I'll have to look into this. I run it wide open (security through obscurity?). I'll enable password protection on my server and update the app.

Ok, I tried using http://code.google.com/p/periscope/ for subtitles, but the results are not as expected.
That's why I think I build my own class using parts of periscope and other python based subtitle searchers. My question to you guys is, what it your normal source for subtitles.
The things I want to implement for myself are: SubtitleSource, OpenSubtitle, SubScene, Ondertitel.com
I can't promise anything, but if there is a source that can provide enough subtitles for current releases, I'll try to add it.
I also know that XBMC and other clients provide easy subtitle searches, but I want to keep it CouchPotato way and make sure the user doesn't have to do anything

I've updated the app (link here) with the ability to search by scanning a barcode.
RuudBurger: Do you mind putting a link to that post on the main page so people can find it more easily?
Edit: It appears UPC scanning could use a bit more work. UPCDatabase.com does not contain a complete database of UPC codes. I'll have to seek other sources for the data.

Renaming cron doesn't seem to work or works at random. Does it really scan for content every minute in your download directory as it renamed once for me and now hasn't bothered since. Really weird.

I cant seem to get the android app working. Ive set everything up correctly, tried pointing it to my ip and also to a domain that im using with dyndns. I can search for a movie but i get not option to add it to the queue.
EDIT: I clear data/cache for MobileCouch and tried it again and it gave me a web page not available error. I typed the link it says was unavailable into firefox and it worked fine though.

make sure you do not type http://YOURDOMAINNAME it just needs to be YOUR DOMAINNAME.
i literally just found out about this and I typed http://DYnDNS and it ended up looking like this http://http://DynDns..
I removed the http:// from settings and its working just fine

That's odd. Can you access that link from your android phone?
The results page is pretty much just the android web browser.
