Some live streams failing to play - SuperNano - 2014-12-11

I tried to post this as an issue in GitHub, but I feel more people are reading this forum. I'm getting an error when I try to play some live streams. I'm using the latest stable Xbian build in my Raspberry pi. The error lines in the log are:

08:05:29 T:2699031616 ERROR: OpenDemuxStream - Error creating demuxer
08:05:29 T:2699031616 NOTICE: COMXPlayer::OnExit()
08:05:29 T:2699031616 NOTICE: COMXPlayer::OnExit() deleting input stream
08:05:29 T:3037660208 ERROR: Playlist Player: skipping unplayable item: 0, path [plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?path=/root/video&action=play_video&videoid=lX0xOANPHbk]
08:05:29 T:3037660208 NOTICE: COMXPlayer: finished waiting

The entire log is at http://pastebin.com/gwrjhzjp

Note that at ~08:05:00 I attempted to play the live stream that gave the error, and at ~08:05:30 I clicked on the one right next to it and it played fine.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't need to uninstall/reinstall the YouTube app (it complained about uninstalling anyway due to a couple of dependencies and I wasn't in the mood to deal with that).

YouTube Music app is playing videos again, which is the only reason I need the official YouTube app to work, so the fact that login is still broken is irrelevant for me - bromix's excellent 'alpha' remains my go-to YouTube app (subscriptions, watch later, etc.).

How to apply this patch? I've put the file into the youtube addon folder but it doesn't work.

Is 4k support coming?

On 4k videos the best settings I can get is 720p.

still works for me in Canada, vevo and normal videos both

Tried the RedViolet Patch and worked just fine.
I am able to play Vevo with no issues

Download the YouTubePlayer.py File
Go to
/storage/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.youtube

Rename the old file to YouTubePlayer.old.py
Then drag the new downloaded file into that folder.
Restart of XBMC maybe required but i didnt have to.

I believe the issue here is Youtube streams 1080p and 4K using DASH, which XBMC doesnt support (yet?)

The only thing that fixed all Youtube problems for me on my XBMC 13.2 and Kodi RC3 boxes is Youtube alpha.29 addon from Bromix repo
