Would it be possible to have the option to cache the fanart permanently if the user wants? Personally I'd definitely store them locally, I love the fanart view but don't use it because of the delay in grabbing the images.

Yep. I'm planning to review the whole caching mechanism, giving the user a finer control over what and how much is cached.

What about "Videostream"? Basically does the same as airvideo and their devs may be more xbmc-friendly?

Installed XBMC on my HTPC over the weekend and am loving it.
I decided to give XBMC Commander a go this morning. Got it connected ok so I can scroll through the menus on the pc using gestures but I cannot get any films/videos or music to show.
I have XBMC on the pc in library mode as it should be but nothing appears on the ipad. On the ipads commander home screen there is a list of actions. 2 of these are scan video libary and scan music library. If I press these buttons nothing happens. Is it meant to update the libraries on the pc or scan the libraries across to the ipad commander? I can change the use of these buttons to be keyboard etc so they are definately working.
Can anyone please advise where I am going wrong?

Thanks but that's all been done. I have my tv shows and movies setup as the correct content and scraped etc. It's working fine on the pc.

I just took the latest update from the app store and could swear that I initially saw a search box(?) and some basic player controls at the top of the screen when looking at a movie in Fanart view. But now that box and controls have vanished? Was I imagining this?
D'OH! Figured it out....two finger swipe needed.....

I've seen a video on youtube about this app and I've seen there that movie sets were stacked together like in xbmc it self. Did I need to enable something special that xbmc commander act like that current it does not stack together my movie sets.
I'm using the current pvr build from https://launchpad.net/~lars-opdenkamp/+archive/xbmc-pvr

The pvr build is a pre-eden build (using it myself).
Movie sets have been flattened down to the global movie list when querying through the json api in pre-eden.
Methods to query the sets directly have been added a few weeks ago, but i still have to adapt them...
Rest assured, it's on my list for the next update.

Scan video / audio library trigger a full library scan on XBMC.
When you hit them, you should see a popup on XBMC iterating through your sources directories.
If you don't see that one, i'm pretty sure that theres something wrong with your library setup. Double check that you are browsing xbmc in database mode on your pc.

Are they save to use? No, never, thats why they're experimental
But at the moment i've got everything working, except for the issue with the movie sets mentioned earlier.
Can't promise that something will break again though.

Installed the latest version on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
Is it possible that many of the gestures, shortcuts and control buttons are not working?
Eg for controls play, pause and stop are working but forward and next are not.
For shortcuts the scan options seem to work but the others are not.
And gestures don't seem to work at all

I disabled the firewall ofm my htpc and enabled the atv workaround on the iPad and iPhone and now everything works.
