strange problem with vis framerate - mxxx - 2010-10-30
hey guys
i've had this really weird problem with the framerate of my visualisations for ages, and i've just discovered something that makes it even weirder. currently running the latest dharma beta on lucid, although the problem's been persisting for a long, long time.
when i run a music visualiser (any of them), the framerate of the waveform is quite slow, maybe 10fps. if it's a vis that has extra effects like projectM or goom, all the effects run at full framerate, but the basic waveform still only refreshes at about 10fps.
i realised the other day that if i open up a flash video in firefox, the waveform suddenly starts playing at full framerate. if i close the browser, it goes back to the stuttered playback.
this is totally confusing me, and i just wondered if anybody had any ideas?
