IR USB Dongal for PC for use with Harmony One remote? - Jyujinkai - 2010-11-18 Hi there I just got a harmony one remote and now logitech support is telling me that I need a 3rd party IR DONGAL, to allow it to communicate with the computer... Dose anyone know what they are talking about.. the store i normally buy stuff off says I need to buy a 2n d remote, just to get the ir dongal.. is that true? Dose anyone know any IR Dongals that work in ubuntu / xbmclive and the harmony one remote? Thanks in advance - choebear - 2010-11-18 You should be able to do it cheaply, read this compltely http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=77519 - Jyujinkai - 2010-11-18 Thanks I am not asking about setting it up.. I am asking about what he devices are called that you need for teh remote to talk to teh computer in teh first place and who makes them... I guess you mean this HP Media Receiver thing... I got this thing... "HAUPPAUGE WINDOWS MEDIA CENTRE IR REMOTE CONTROL" but it is like really expensive compared to the 10 bucks for that other device... will ti work though? - poofyhairguy - 2010-11-18 One of these works perfectly with a Harmony and XBMC. I have a few and have gotten them to work with both Windows and Linux: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=OVU400103/00&_sacat=0&_odkw=hp+ir&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 |
