DasFa Wrote:Hi @ all

i would like to know if its possible to start a game on a secondary monitor and sounddevice via arguments.

thanks in advance for your help Smile

I think you'll have to research the particular emulators you use. Websites for emulators usually document working arguments.

- DasFa - 2010-12-01

Sorry forgot to give you some additional infos.

Im talking about windows games.

is there an overall command for such things or do each game have its own arguments?

- Pinhead - 2010-12-01

I don't think there is an overall argument.

You could use software like http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ to specify which monitor to launch particular programs with.

A Little Help! - twenty02si - 2010-12-01

Hey guys I seriously need some help here. I am very new to XBMC about a week in lol. Here is my issue, For the life of me I cannot get Launcher to work. I have tried the one that is in the repository and i get a script error, tried the one from the google code website (the one I would prefer to use due to scrapping) and no go.

The only thing for emulation I can get to work is EmuLauncher and I do not prefer this. I am sorry for being so lame and not knowing this. I am in no way new to computers. I have a degree in Network Security and I am a Systems/Security Admin. I feel FAIL!

either PM me or shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thanks in advance.

Well, the Launcher you find in the repository doesn't work for me either. This thread is for Advanced Launcher, which is a forked project, built on Launcher.

How did you install the zip-file you downloaded from the Google Project page? The easiest way to install the Add-on is from inside of XBMC. From the Programs section you pick "Install from zip", and then pick the file you downloaded from the Project page (should be version 0.7).

I will give this a try. thanks.

Ok the install worked that time, but now I just get an script failed error.

- Pinhead - 2010-12-02

I think you need to be a bit more specific. When do you get the error?

I have tried this on 2 different computers and i receive the same result (Windows XP and Windows 7)

Again I really appreciate the help.

Any chance you could add support for scraping from thegamesdb.net?

I think you'll have to ask the developer about this one...

Debug log might help. What version of XBMC are you running?

No it is not possible to do this with actually with the advanced launcher addon and I do not know if it will be possible. I'm a Linux user and do not have dual screen so it will be difficult for me to investigate on this way. Maybe you will have to investigate into Windows functionalities to see if there is a command line of software to force to launch an application on a specific screen. If so it may be possible to create a .bat file or an autoit script to do the job. Then it will be possible to launch this script using the advanced launcher.

Pinhead Wrote:I had a look in my launchers.xml, and from what I can see, there is a disparity between the platform title between games there is data on, and those without; PlayStation and Playstation. Could there be a problem with case sensitivity?

Here is my full launchers.xml anyway.

Thank you for the file. I will try to make some tests this evening with it and see if I can reproduce your errors and fix them. Thank your for your feedback.

That's not normal that you can't even install the launcher version that is on the repository. Are you sure that you are using the right version of XBMC? The Advanced launcher is working only with Dharma Versions (10.4) and not with old, but actual stable, Camelot versions (9.11).
