The WinSetState function of AutoIt do it perfectly. - Death-Axe - 2011-03-21 Ok it seems i have to close and open xbmc for the new artwork to show up. Perhaps a fix is needed. Maybe unrelated, but in kega I am getting 'directdraw init error #2, unable to create a primary surfice bla bla bla' when selecting a game. suggestions? - Angelscry - 2011-03-21 bl4ck Wrote:@AngelscryYou can also control XBMC windows state from batch file using the small nircmd application. Example here. - Angelscry - 2011-03-21 Death-Axe Wrote:Ok it seems i have to close and open xbmc for the new artwork to show up. Perhaps a fix is needed. That a problem related to the XBMC image cache update. Normally if you modify your images or their path directly FROM Advanced Launcher they are automatically updated. But if you modify your images or their path externally from XBMC (copy/paste images or manually edit the launchers.xml file), the only solution for you will be to wait a couple of days that the XBMC images cache was updated. Death-Axe Wrote:Maybe unrelated, but in kega I am getting 'directdraw init error #2, unable to create a primary surfice bla bla bla' when selecting a game. suggestions?I have not found the time yet to check, but I think it is mainly related to a conflit between XBMC and Kega Fusion when both using DirectDraw at the same time. And because it is working on my system, I think it is related to your graphic card configuration. Actually I see 2 for you solutions :

The ultimate solution is to read the User Guide and activate the "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" option into XBMC. - fr500 - 2011-03-21 Crusoer Wrote:Hi, If you are using windows, use the windows power saving options for sleep/suspend, don't use the internal ones. That should do it. The XBMC options check if XBMC has been active. That means you might be gaming (game will inhibit sleep from happening) but after returning from a game PC could go to sleep cuz timer expired. - Crusoer - 2011-03-21 Angelscry Wrote:Ho... maybe it will solve your problem : Do you have tried to use a external script (batch file) that will suspend XBMC when you will start tvtime, and then restore XBMC when tvtime will be closed? It is for a Windows or a Linux operating system? Hi it's for linux. The PsTools won't work but maybe i can find a linux equivalent. I'm not sure if xbmc "causes" the suspend state or simply configures the x server to cause a monitor sleep after 5 minutes. Either way if i could manipulate the xbmc setting (maybe through a script) that would resolve the issue. @fr500 i'm on linux, unfortunately tvtime doesn't prevent the sleep state... - Angelscry - 2011-03-21 Crusoer Wrote:HiThe Linux equivalent to pause/resume XBMC is : Code: killall -STOP xbmc.bin This may work if XBMC cause the suspend state. But as you said, if XBMC configures the X server to cause a monitor sleep after 5 minutes, this will not work. In this case you can also try to close/start XBMC : Code: killall -9 xbmc.bin - bl4ck - 2011-03-21 Angelscry Wrote:You can also control XBMC windows state from batch file using the small nircmd application. Welcome Could I ask for the old versions of the Advanced Launcher with a working minimization? - Angelscry - 2011-03-21 bl4ck Wrote:WelcomeAll released versions of Advanced Launcher are available here : http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-advanced-launcher/downloads/list?can=1&q=&colspec=Filename+Summary+Uploaded+ReleaseDate+Size+DownloadCount It may be all the versions prior to 0.9.0. - bl4ck - 2011-03-21 Thank you very much. No Sound in Windows 7 - billg618 - 2011-03-21 I'm having problems getting sound to work in anything I launch. I'm running on Windows 7 and have narrowed it down to something to do with the exclusive mode setting on my audio device. I have the audio hooked up to my onboard SPDIF port. If I go Playback Devices->Properties for SPDIF->Advanced Tab and uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device", then audio will work for both XBMC and anything loaded from Advanced Launcher. However, I lose the ability to play any video that has surround sound, as it seems that Windows 7 requires Exclusive Mode to be able to do surround. Has anyone else had a similar issue? - Death-Axe - 2011-03-22 A few things to let you know. Kega on some systems needs to be run without aero on allot of systems, so that error is now gone. (changed a compatibility mode setting in properties) Running XBMC in window full screen mode isn't a solution for anything, as 1080p movies will stutter for most users. NOT recommended. As XBMC was intended for video and not launching emulators etc, this is not something you should be suggesting. Next point; I was changing images within advanced launcher not externally, and I still needed to restart XBMC for the changed images to show. Not a huge problem problem, so don't worry about it. Over all, you have done a great job in adding this functionality to XBMC. It's just a shame that XBMC doesn't like being minimised in such the way your addon does, as sometimes it wont restore after a game. Not your fault though. Thanks for all your work :-) - Angelscry - 2011-03-22 Death-Axe Wrote:A few things to let you know. Kega on some systems needs to be run without aero on allot of systems, so that error is now gone. (changed a compatibility mode setting in properties).By default I always desactivate Aero of my windows system... That's why I did not encounter this error. That's good to know. I will add a corresponding line on the WIKI page. Death-Axe Wrote:Running XBMC in window full screen mode isn't a solution for anything, as 1080p movies will stutter for most users. NOT recommended. As XBMC was intended for video and not launching emulators etc, this is not something you should be suggesting.Yes I know, but the problem is that some applications cannot been started correctly (like Kega Fusion) when XBMC is into fullscreen mode. It is not a display problem but a problem of DirectDraw access by both application at the same time. I could take a look I there is a way to by pass this. Death-Axe Wrote:Next point; I was changing images within advanced launcher not externally, and I still needed to restart XBMC for the changed images to show. Not your fault though. And it is very hard to do it from Advanced Launcher which is inside XBMC. To control exactly XBMC and started application windows state it is alway more easy to do it externally. That's why I strongly recommend to use external batch scripts to do it. - twotone8 - 2011-03-22 i'm using advanced launcher to launch 'gameex', an emulation frontend. I point advanced launcher to a batch file containing this script pssuspend XBMC.exe cd "C:\GameEx\GameEx" Gameex.exe %1 pssuspend -r XBMC.exe it's been working just fine, except that xbmc is not in focus when it re initializes. is there any way to tell it to regain focus after coming back fron its suspended state? |
