- ^FrEaK^ - 2011-05-18 ok, i'm one step closer now....i've found out that if i set xbmc in a windows, it works, and if i set det setting "use a fullscreen window insted of true fullscreen" on it works, but not in true fullscreen 1920x1080 resolution i use hdmi out to my tv if that has anything to do with it - Angelscry - 2011-05-18 ^FrEaK^ Wrote:ok, i'm one step closer now....i've found out that if i set xbmc in a windows, it works, and if i set det setting "use a fullscreen window insted of true fullscreen" on it works, but not in true fullscreen 1920x1080 resolutionThe "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" option must be activated if you want XBMC to switch to other started applications. Now for your resolution problem... you can try to go into the Advanced options of your minecraft launcher and activate/deactivate the Toggle XBMC Fullscreen option. Some time it fix resolution problems. Also, does Windows 7, XBMC and Minecraft use the same screen resolution? If you have the possibility to try the use the same resolution for them. - Mad_Duke - 2011-05-18 Hi people! It says "Specific XBMC configuration for Windows To fully use Advanced Launcher under Windows operating system, you will need to activate the Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen option that is present into XBMC system settings." Is there any way to use the program in true fullscreen. Or is there some information when will it work. The window shit just wrecks havoc when watching movies! Normal "Launcher" works great but the advancd is giving me a headache! EDIT: Now it runs all my programs (put XBMC to run with admin rights and I also put that on every executable that I want to run) but when I quit my programs it will go back to windows and not XBMC (Like the normal Launcher does). Unfortunately I am not a programmer but I can't see the problem in borrowing that part of the code from the "launcher" project because there it works perfectly (I use the regular launcher to run "ultrastar" and when I exit it goes back to XBMC! - Angelscry - 2011-05-18 Mad_Duke Wrote:Hi people! It saysThat's a quite complex problem, and believe me, I have spend a lot of time try to found a way to solve this. Yes, I can bring back the XBMC code to launch applications as the same way as the Launcher add-on do, but this code, have also limitation : no possibility to start filenames containing coma, problem with complex command lines, no support of "current working directory", starting process dependent of XBMC. So I have made the choice to have a better and flexible command line support to start the most possible applications instead of using the limited XBMC code to start applications. The only problem in my choice is that Windows users need to select the "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" option to make Advanced Launcher works correctly. I know that this options generate sometime problem when watching movies. But here comes 3 questions :
- fasteddy - 2011-05-18 [I posted this in the Advanced Launcher forums, but it doesn't appear to be widely used, so I'm posting here instead.] I'm having difficulty using AL to launch a game in python. Specifically, the FoFiX branch of Frets on Fire doesn't currently have a linux binary (nor can you easily build one with the current source code). As a result, they suggest you run it from source, by executing Code: python fofix.py I can't seem to launch this from XBMC, however. I have a desktop icon (in Ubuntu 10.04) that links to a script, but I can't use that script in XBMC using AL. Might there be an issue using python like this from within XBMC? - Angelscry - 2011-05-18 fasteddy Wrote:[I posted this in the Advanced Launcher forums, but it doesn't appear to be widely used, so I'm posting here instead.]I have not try yet to start python scripts from Advanced Launcher... but there is no reason to not works. You can try several things.

After doing a full scrap of all of my games, there are a few changes I need to make. Some of the fanart needs to be changed, along with the thumbnails. When I find the right fanart or thumbnail and choose it, the changes don't stick. It still shows the old fanart or thumbnail. Launchers.xml is referring to the correct .jpg, so I don't see any errors there...I'm out of ideas. I'm running Cirrus Extended on Dharma 10.1 on Windows 7 32-bit. I will post my launchers.xml if necessary, but I can assure you there are no errors in the file. I am using <useddsfanart> in advancedsettings.xml....would that need to be disabled? EDIT: I've included my launchers.xml anyway in case you find something I don't: http://pastebin.com/LTcKy4Vy - blattspinat - 2011-05-19 Hi, I'm running XBMC on minimal ubuntu and when I start a web browser (tried multiple) from launcher and watch a video in fullscreen (e.g. on youtube) I have heavy screen tearing. The problem does not occur if I use the youtube plugin for example. The videos also run fine when not in fullscreen. Since there isnt a plugin for every streaming source I would like to access these platforms via the browser - is there anything I can do to make fullscreen videos run better? - danz0l - 2011-05-19 Is there anyway to create subcategories in a launcher, say Super Nintendo # A B C D E ......... Would make finding things easier ? - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 Dr.Know Wrote:I'm currently having an issue where I'm trying to re-scrap fanart and thumbs for my SNES emulator (zsnes). It's happen if you manually (without using XBMC/Advanced Launcher) change the thumb or fanart images. Or it could also be a direct a caching problem of XBMC. It happen also sometime with movies thumbs and fanarts. The only safe way to fix this is to wait a couple of days that the XBMC cache refresh your changer image. - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 blattspinat Wrote:Hi,Your problem is not really related to Advanced Launcher, because Advanced Launcher only start the internet browsers... and nothing else. If you start manually (not from XBMC) a youtube video into fulllscreen, did you have video tearing? Could be possible that your system is not enough powerful to run XBMC and watch a youtube video fullscreen from a browser at the same time. Make the test, and if it is the case, you always have the possibility to close/re-start XBMC using a launcher script are described here : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=40 - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 danz0l Wrote:Is there anyway to create subcategories in a launcher, sayNo, there is no possibility to create subcategories. If you want to find a specific game you have a search engine into Advanced Launcher (more powerful than a simple indexing). - Dr.Know - 2011-05-19 Angelscry Wrote:If the path into your launchers.xml file are correct, that's a problem with XBMC cache refreshing. I only ever made changes to fanart/thumbs within Advanced Launcher...no where else. And when I select a new thumb/fanart from what the scrapper gives me, it doesn't change in the launcher. When I go in the folder where that thumb/fanart is located, it's there...just not loading in Advanced Launcher. It does sound like a caching issue....is there any way to clear the cache sooner than just waiting for it to happen? Here's my pastebin of launchers.xml anyway: http://pastebin.com/LTcKy4Vy |
