RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - td75 - 2015-12-05 Have found Angelscrys Advanced Launcher Code dump from release 2.5.8 here: https://github.com/edwtjo/advanced-launcher RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - kilimanjaro - 2015-12-05 (2015-12-05, 01:33)td75 Wrote:Yes and much much more, the dev (spoyser) is awesome to, pop over at the thread.(2015-12-04, 23:28)kilimanjaro Wrote: super favourites by spoyser its also a way to ogsnise favourites better and also you can create your own addon usingparts of other addons, there are ots ofyoutube videos on this. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Bedwyr - 2015-12-05 I'm not sure I grok the "general launcher" functionality of the add-on. Quote:Add what you want from an any addon (or built in Kodi feature) to Kodi favourites, eg say from the YouTube addon you just want Search and the Sports Category, just add these to Kodi favourites the normal way via the context menu. Tells me that it takes from other add-ons rather than support a general .exe launcher. Am I misunderstanding its scope? RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - kilimanjaro - 2015-12-05 maybe I'm exaggerating its scope... maybe have a look at https://github.com/spoyser/spoyser-repo/tree/master/plugin.program.super.favourites at the bottom readme txt To be honest I dont use that function but to my knowledge it is quite extensive and im confident it covers the function you require. I would recommend you ask on the thread (super favouites) im sure the dev woud be able to give you an answer. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Zpectre87 - 2015-12-06 Super Favorites is a bit like playing "Lego" with your addons, it's not intended to launch executables. Advanced Launcher was useful because it was a wild card that eliminated the need to develop a plugin for each executable. For example, there's a Steam Launcher plugin for Kodi, but you could theoretically do the same with AL, just add the Steam.exe with -bigpicture parameter so it launches Steam in Big Picture Mode. From the beginning it was focused on launching emulators, but, considering all kinds of executables function the same way, the ability to launch different executables was a great side effect of the plugin. Advanced Launcher 2.5.8 (latest) here >>> download In the installation instructions it says you can install the Angelscry repository for updates, but I think it's no longer relevant since I'd expect Angelscry to have disabled access to it. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - kilimanjaro - 2015-12-06 ldavet thanks for your information, I agree. but you can launch SF from any where and it comes up similar to how advance launcher came up, I recommend asking the dev to include the ability to launch executables, hes awesome with feature request and the SF addon is well supported RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - SFX Group - 2015-12-07 Hi This seems to work well (Windows 7 64bit, KODI v15.2 laucher v2.5.8) I managed to get a program to run on the desktop, however i have a few questions... - What file type, size and colors do i need to get the thumbnails to show? - Does the thumbnail support transparencies? - How do i get this as a "Add-On shortcut" in the Confluence skin (settings > appearance > skin > settings > Add-on shortcuts) I added this to the PROGRAMS but it just brings the list DEFAULT up and doesn't run it. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Rufoo - 2015-12-13 (2015-12-05, 01:34)td75 Wrote: Have found Angelscrys Advanced Launcher Code dump from release 2.5.8 here: https://github.com/edwtjo/advanced-launcher I took a copy of this and had a mess around with it. So far, I've added a basic Wikipedia scraper, the addition of a Ratings flag and scraping for it from TheGamesDB, removal of the defunct Allgame scraper, a few additions / modifications to console names in gamesys database and so on. Personally, I've always prefered the practicality and directness of Advanced Launcher over something like Rom Collection Browser and I don't know what the stance is on modifying this stuff and releasing it. I design viewtypes for Advanced Launcher for use with the Cirrus Extended skin: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=206682&pid=2148203#pid2148203 If there is an interest in it and there is no concern from Angelscry about it I may look into advancing it further but as a leisurely pursuit. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - lollo78 - 2015-12-14 Nice job Rufoo! I love Advanced Launcher over RCB for the same reasons, but it require some works to make it perfect (not only dead scrapers). My launcher.xml file is more than 11 MB and when I start AL it require a lot of time. It's so frustrating (at leat on raspberry Pi 2)! I think that this is related to the AL concept to save all the informations inside one file only. So, when it become huge, the addon have some issue to parse quickly all the info. RCB, instead, use a different approach: it creates an .nfo file for each games. Other issue is the limited views inside skins. Skin devs doens't support AL because the addon doesn't have setted the correct content type. So, it can't show all of its potential. So, if you continue the development I think that the whole community will appreciate. I'll do it for sure! Could you do the same mod also for Mimic Skin? Have you created a Github fork with the Wikipedia scraper? Or could you share the link to try it? Thx Bye RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Rufoo - 2015-12-14 (2015-12-14, 14:59)lollo78 Wrote: Nice job Rufoo! Thanks. 11MB!? Jesus. That seems really quite large. You must have 1000s of ROMs or something listed. I haven't taken much of a look at the launcher.xml generation / parsing side of things beyond it now adding a <rating> flag to launchers and being able to read it. Still getting my head around all the scripts in AL. 2. I'm not even entirely certain what is broken / what needs fixing. 3. Most advancements would be made in mind for the viewtypes I build. When you ask about mod for Mimic Skin, if you're referring to the Advanced Launcher mod that will work on any skin, if you're referring to the SexyCirrus views, sorry, Cirrus is my home skin and I won't be making viewtypes for others. Yes, I have a very big collection (full romset for a lot of platforms, scraped with cover and info)... I didn't counted them, but sure more than 1.000. Quote:I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this or rather, I don't know what you mean by "doesn't have settled the correct content type". Please clarify. Some skin's devs believe that who make the addon should also prepare the views and the content optimization (show info etc) for their skins. There's no rush. The important thing is that AL doesn't die. It would be a real shame. I understand your motivations about SexyCirrus, but please give it a try for Mimic. It would be nice if you could optimize the actual views (they not show the infos) or add some new views (of course not all the views included inside SexyCirrus). Quote:No, I just did this on my machine at home. Haven't created any forks. As I said previously, I don't really know what the rules are around such things.IMHO: Angelscry have published AL on Github for the whole community, so if you create a fork on Github and give him the right credits I don't think it will be a problem. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Bedwyr - 2015-12-15 (2015-12-14, 23:43)lollo78 Wrote: IMHO: Angelscry have published AL on Github for the whole community, so if you create a fork on Github and give him the right credits I don't think it will be a problem. The AL repository on Github is gone I believe. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Rufoo - 2015-12-15 Hmmm... Well, I might message Angelscry and see what he says about it. I appreciate the encouragement but I would only update AL so it has some new features (new scrapers, ratings, developer flags, and maybe media information types) and is considered compatible again with Kodi. I'm guessing you mean RCB contains its own views whereas AL does not. I won't be designing cross-skin compatible viewtypes. So, sorry, Mimic is out of the question. I already dedicate what time I can to my SexyCirrus project and if I decide to work on AL too I think that is enough on my plate. Besides, the plan is to already work with Paradix (author of the Cirrus Extended skin) to merge my SexyCirrus viewtypes into the base Cirrus Extended skin when I release the final batch of them somepoint this month / next month. I also will be helping in renovating the Cirrus Extended skin as a whole. As such, I intend to honor those commitments to the Cirrus Extended skin and don't have time for others. While the updates I add to AL will be available to all skins, it will be up to the skin and the views for it to be able to call upon and use the changes. My SexyCirrus viewtypes will sort of act as a flagship for these changes right out of the box. The principle purpose of updating AL is to add enchancements I want and to add to Cirrus Extended's functionality. And yeah... the github doesn't exist anymore. RE: [CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Rufoo - 2015-12-15 (2015-12-14, 23:43)lollo78 Wrote: Haha! I think this also might be your problem, mate. I have many complete sets too, but I certainly don't have them linked through Kodi / Advanced Launcher. I just use the games I mostly play. I could be wrong but you're probably getting bogged down awful load times because you simply have an inhuman amount of ROMs going plus if those games have thumbs and whatnot sourced from TheGamesDB and the like you will experience crippling speeds eventually. Mostly because many of the thumbs offered by TheGamesDB tend to be in the 3000 x 2000 odd resolutions which is HUGE! If your box art is mostly comprised of images from TheGamesDB look into getting a batch image processor and outputting lower resolution variants. All those huge high resolution box arts can place a massive chokehold on the swiftness of your system. |
