I wondered if maybe my little Revo just wasn't designed to emulate stuff on this level and that's why it started to choke on the 32x carts. The last two advanced emulators I have to set up are Sega CD and Saturn emulators, so if those experience the same problems I may just chalk it up to lack of processing power and stick to the old-old-school. Quote:Xpadder lets me configure my controller so that I have to press both triggers and the start button all at the same time. Sorta like L+R+Start from the N64 days. Is there a good tutorial / help file for how to get Xpadder to do this? I paid for it and my only complaint is that it has the worst documentation of almost any program I've used on my HTPC so far. Just figuring out how to get it to map the triggers on my 360 controller took an hour. - srsobieraj - 2011-01-27 BrotherMagneto Wrote:Right now wait state is just set to default settings. This sounds like it's the case. I'm using a dual-core i3 with a 1GB DDR5 graphics card. I'm not sure what the Revo comes with but onboard graphics won't cut it when you're rendering polygons. Just figuring out how to get it to map the triggers on my 360 controller took an hour. Tutorials for configuring Xpadder are all over the place on Youtube. An hour to set up your Xpadder isn't bad, I've put in over 72 hours into getting my HTPC set up and I'm still tinkering to get it perfect. To do something like my L+R+start, create a new profile, click on your left trigger to open the key-assignment page, then click Advanced and Set Selection. Choose "Go to Set 2 while held" (or something like that). Click OK and choose your 2nd set (the number 2 at the bottom). Click on your right trigger and choose "go to set 3 while held". Finally, go to set 3 and click the start button and assign it to "Alt+F4". Now you can close your emulator by holding the left trigger, then the right trigger, then pressing start. I think technically you can release the left trigger after you've pressed the right one, but it's still a 3-layer defense against accidentally closing your ROM. You can even edit the in-between steps. For example, I have a profile set up for each one of my emulators, where RTrigger+DpadUp = QuickSave and RTrigger + DpadDown = QuickLoad. Usually this is F5 and F8, which Xpadder makes easy to bind to your gamepad. - fr500 - 2011-01-28 BrotherMagneto Wrote:Right now wait state is just set to default settings. For emulation you need a beffy CPU more than anything, does the problem happen when you run the emulator without XBMC? - BrotherMagneto - 2011-01-28 fr500 Wrote:For emulation you need a beffy CPU more than anything, does the problem happen when you run the emulator without XBMC? Yeah it did. I actually reset my system completely when it first happened in case it was a memory issue and it ran almost exactly the same way. 1964 takes about 30 seconds to load on my machine (says it's loading all of the plugins in that time.) The system specs are here - it's not exactly a gaming rig. Running Poker Night at the Inventory on low settings makes it fall all over itself. I may just give up on anything over the 32x (playable but annoying) and potentially the Saturn if it's not too awful. There's just a few games from those systems I like anyway. Quote:Tutorials for configuring Xpadder are all over the place on Youtube. It's funny, YouTube doesn't even cross my mind as a place to look for tutorials, but you're right. I should really start thinking that way. Thanks!! I've been using the Set Selection to swap between the various key layouts for the emulators, and the basic mouse functionality for point-and-click games. Cool implementation of key commands though, thanks! - srsobieraj - 2011-01-28 BrotherMagneto Wrote:I've been using the Set Selection to swap between the various key layouts for the emulators Xpadder has an auto-watcher so you don't have to do this. Create a profile for each one of your emulators and go to the settings->AutoProfile. Create a new Watch, and have it load your profile, and watch for the emulator EXE. Now whenever your emulator launches, Xpadder will automatically switch profiles for you. Tadaa! It's the reason I bought the program vs using Joy2Key. - srsobieraj - 2011-01-28 Hi Angelscry, Bug update: Regression in the last release . I re-scraped my NES directory on automatic in v0.9.12 and was presented with this: http://i.imgur.com/9eBeS.jpg I had thumbnails set to autoscrape as well, but fanart was not! My scraper was GameFAQs. Things to note in pic: * Studio pulled in some html junk * Plot is still pulling in " * Fanart scraped when not selected! I also noticed that there is no "skip" option when semi-automatic scraping. The Studio thing has never been a problem for me since I started using ALA (around v0.7 or so). The others must be recent regressions. Are others noticing this as well or am I an isolated case? - Angelscry - 2011-01-28 srsobieraj Wrote:Things to note in pic:

Yes, when I delete my fanart they are not re-scraped. Sorry for the confusion. - Angelscry - 2011-01-28 srsobieraj Wrote:I didn't delete my fanart. See: http://i.imgur.com/XbPF0.png Info was set to semi-automatic, thumbnails set to automatic, fanart set to none. - Angelscry - 2011-01-28 srsobieraj Wrote:When I went to scrape, there was simply no "Skip" option that I saw. There is no skip option to select. Just press ESCAPE key to skip. - srsobieraj - 2011-01-28 Angelscry Wrote:There is no skip option to select. Just press ESCAPE key to skip. OH! I thought there was an entry called skip. My bad again. Sigh. - fr500 - 2011-01-28 Angelscry Wrote:Version 1.0.0 Thanks will start coding right away My guess is Listitem.Path is mapped to the Fanart path of each thumb right? - Angelscry - 2011-01-28 fr500 Wrote:Thanks will start coding right awayIt your fanart path is /path/to/fanart/fanart.jpg, the listitem.Path value will be /path/to/fanart. It is linked to the fanart path, not to the thumb path. But I do not know at all if it is the right way to assign the listitem.Path. |
