Dude I know I can - you're the best. I just keep adding more to your plate Big Grin (how is the actor stuff coming, btw?)

Well, you can blame rad in this case. But I imagine it's a lot easier when you have an actual API to work from. Smile

Nixie clock.

My design is leaning towards the Steampunk occasionally Tongue I actually really love that, but I have no idea how I would begin to encorporate it.

Maybe when this is done I'll do a full on Steampunk skin. That would be pretty awesome.

Agreed. I'm a total gear head and always wanted to bring some crazy kinematics to xbmc

Rad_ Wrote:(if you want to take this seriously: http://www.bandsintown.com/api/overview can do a lot of fancy things [geo-ip based location searching, recommendations given a list of artists, etc], or http://www.last.fm/api/show?service=270, or I'm sure there are a number of site-specific RSS feeds available if a user signs up somewhere that tracks these things and then passes their relevant info to the skin/script [allowing you to forgo the heavy lifting])

Not finished yet, but you can't go wrong with an old school punk flyer.

PPIC: I'm thinking to make this happen with bandsintown we need to be able to pass at least some geographic info to return a list of upcoming shows. It seems to work at least somewhat internationally (I got London, UK and Paris, FR to work). In addition, I think I would like to be able to pull a similar list from an artist page. For instance http://www.bandsintown.com/NOFX/upcoming_events linked from the NOFX artist page. Of course, as Rad points out a lot of artists will have no information returned, but I still think its cool to add for existing artists. Looking at the API it allows for both scenarios - so hopefully not that much craziness with python.

PS. A is playing at B on C is a little nod to the local Athens, Ga music rag - The Flagpole. Long live local music. Thanks to a scene that supported me for many years *tearing up*

I really can't wait for this unique idea to come to fruition and land on my XBMC. It's serious and it's art. You're really talented, blacklist.

Dude, I'm not sure about serious art - but its a lot of fun to design. I'm hoping it lives up to the hype! Thanks for the kind words.

Here's the first run at a mockup for the OSD. Ideas:

Gauge #1: Um, dunno. Steam?
Gauge #2: Percentage watched.

Looking for some other input as to what you guys find essential on the OSD?

- ubuntuf4n - 2011-01-05

I like the idea of 'less is more'. There is no need to overdo it.
Not sure what could be done with the Steam-Gauge.

Normally, I like to have a movie-poster of the running movie, but this might brake
the spirit of this skin.
I guess that your posted screenshot is the one for the info-button,
so there is still plenty of room for experimenting with the secondary osd-layout (key:m).

Maybe there could be another way to incorporate the movie-poster.
An idea could be an integration of an xxl-poster while being in pause-mode (aka movie paused).
Furthermore, a greaseproof-paper layer could be also added optionally.
Anyway, these are just ideas...

Cheers
