Also, is there any smartplaylist variable that allows me to create a movie channel of my last added 50 movies ? I've tried a combination of things to no success Sad

Best ive got is to limit it to 2011 and has;nt played but of course a great many new films are coming out still with a 2010 tag.

Another version in stable-pre. Fixes the issue with shuffling being on, allow the stop command to be processed outside of the 2 second delay, and manually shuffle the playlist if the order is random.

If this version works out well, I'm going to add the channel overlay code from Sranshaft and then submit it to the official repository.

You can put them all in a folder called new releases or whatever. Then make a playlist with PATH contains new releases. Also put playcount =0 then the channel will only show those you havent watched.

@Micah and @danz0l. You will need to create a mixed playlist. Use my single episode playlists to grab a random show for each tvshow you want. Create additional ones as needed for shows I don't have. Add each single episode playlist as a rule in the mixed playlist. Set the playlist to match one and to random. That should get you what you want. If you want more than one episode, then increase the limit on the single episode playlists from 1 to 2 or 3. The more you add through to the limit, the more likely you may get a grouping of the same show.

Jason,

I am testing out this new stable-pre and have found a problem. If I use the arrow up and down buttons to scroll through the channels, and I find a different program to watch, when changing the channel, all works good. However, if I try to move forward in time, more times than not the program that I choose changes to something else when I select it and in fact disappears from the epg altogether.
I downloaded the stable-pre release and just installed as zip so that I got a "plugin updated" notice in XBMC. The version looks like 1.0.0 in my programs folder and I notice that there are a couple of extra options in the settings.
I just noticed that "Fill in channels with presets" was set to on, I already have channels made up in my playlist folder. Would these interfere with each other causing a problem?
By the way, congrats on the new addition to the family. It really is a blessing!

Mark

You say that the show disappears from the EPG...does the show disappear or does the entire channel disappear? Can you send me a debug log please?

- mwkurt - 2011-02-27

Jason,

What appears to be happening is that the epg skips forward a number of episodes.

Here is a snippet of where the problem lies. I could send you the whole XBMC.log if you want, where do I send it to? I was just thinking, maybe the troubles are due to the skin I am using "Influence". It doesn't appear to be ready for prime time yet. Anyway, here you go:

Yea, that looks like something I can't really fix. I'd honestly be surprised if it was a skin issue since it mentions codec initialization problems. You may just want to try resetting the computer.

- zepfan - 2011-02-27

Jason, do you have any plans to add the skins that we've been working on when you add the plugin to xbmc download? Or would you rather we keep them separate? I won't be upset (Smile) if you don't want to add them, just thought it might be easier for people.

- Jason102 - 2011-02-27

I'm not sure yet. I definitely want at least a few of the more popular skins covered, but I need to consider the file size as well. I'll include everything that makes sense in those terms.

Sounds good. I'll see if I can make mine more lightweight. 1.5 mb max as a guide?

Yikes thats a pain the the rear LOL So i have to create a playlist per tv program that pulls out a random tv show, then link that to a mixed playlist. As much as these smart playlists are smart, they are not that smart are they LOL Smile

That wont work Abe as i add around 30+ movies every couple of days and my folder structure would be insane. And last weeks 30 would not be this weeks 30 new ones etc.

I have a folder structure of

.......Movies
................HD
.......................TITLE Folders
...................................Movie
................SD
.......................TITLE Folders
...................................Movie

Ironically i did try the PATH variable but it doesnt pick up sub folders Sad

Jason,

This is a brand new computer that I am putting PseudoTV on. It is pretty fresh out of the box. Am I the only one experiencing this problem with the stable-pre build?

Edit: Okay, I have since tried using 3 other skins, Confluence, !T and Refocus. It appears that PseudoTV works just fine with all of them. It seems to be a problem with the skin Influence. Along thos lines, whenever a channel is changed and a new episode is selected there is always about 5 seconds of speeding up, freezing, slowing down, etc., when using Influence that isn't there in the other skins.

Would some other PseudoTV user be kind enough to try out the skin "Influence" to see if they get the same results? Maybe someone who understands what may be going on moreso than me? You can get the skin in the Confluence forum.

Thanks,
Mark

No one else has mentioned anything. I would suggest queuing up a smart playlist with the files that seem to be having problems and then going forward and making sure they play. Another thing you could do is load the official release of PseudoTV and see if that works with the same channels. Those things will at least narrow down the culprit.
