Jason102 Wrote:It may be related to a bug that I just (not 20 minutes ago) checked in a fix for...apparently channels with custom playlists wouldn't load properly. Try the newest stable-pre and see if that works any better.

That did it. Talk about timing! Thanks!

EDIT: Spoke too soon, It only scrapes one channel and repeats the same channel over and over for the epg, not a big deal for me as it's only on my test machine. Also, pressing ESC brings me back to the main menu and puts the video in the background and makes me unable to interact with pseudo.

I too get this error message after I start the addon for the first time.
Why are there no valid channels?
Are the urls for the channels dead or something?
In what file are these urls anyway, and how do I add my own?

There are no URLs; this is for your existing XBMC library. If you haven't added movies/TV shows to your library, this addon will not work. This has been mentioned multiple times, including: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=825576&postcount=1316

zepfan: There have been several problems related to background updating recently that I've worked on, some that I fixed yesterday. It's worth noting that at least part of what you're seeing is expected. If all channels need updating then it will only update a single channel and then start that channel. After it's playing, the rest of the channels will be loaded in the background and notifications will be shown as each becomes alive. This is my attempt to minimize startup times. I may need to have some initial notification on startup saying that channels are being loaded, just to make sure the user knows what's going on.

The second part of your message is something that may be broken, though. I've noticed that recent daily XBMC builds aren't good about sending a key press to only the addon, so you end up with things like escape key going to PseudoTV as well as whatever is in the background...and you end up with behavior that is undesired. If you're not using a new daily then we may need to look into the problem a bit more.

Directory Channels .... Thank you!!!! Can't wait.

Noticed in the "Advanced Channel Rules" that you now have scheduling available? Is this now working and when will it be released? I have been looking forward to this feature ever since you said it was a goal of PseudoTV. Looking forward to trying it out.

It's not available yet, I'm working on it now. It will just be one of the available rules that you can add to a channel. As soon as I have something usable (or even partially usable) I'll be sure to update this thread so that everyone can test it out.

In an effort to streamline the options, I have a quick question for everyone: does anyone set the start mode to anything other than the default of Real-Time?

I don't

I am still experimenting with those settings. Could you possibly explain the differences?

Thanks,
Mark

Use the default of real-time for myself and inlaws also use real time.

Really looking forward to the directory channels. I was going to make a bunch of custom .nfo but now I don't have to as the stuff is already sorted into directories. What will show in the guide - the filename?

I do, but it's not something I need.

Resume means that the guide will pick up where you left off when you resume PseudoTV. Real time means that PseudoTV will pick up with the shows that were originally scheduled for the time it resumes (just like Cable/Broadcast/Satelllite). Random is random.

There are currently 3 settings, but I ask the question because I'm considering eliminating the setting all together and forcing real-time mode. Abe's post above says what the 3 settings do.
