djeglin Wrote:I just wanted to chime in real quick and thank igotdvds so much for his work on this project so far... He has taken some ideas I had what seems like many, many months ago (as was the case with Shade) and made them in to something that surpasses my expectations in terms of how it will work in every way.

I've not been able to be involved in this project in any real way for some time now due to illness and other unavoidable circumstances, but igotdvds has taken the initial designs I produced way-back-when and run with them to create something that moves beyond what we achieved with Shade in a big way. I think that Simplicity is smoother, feels "tighter" as a skin, and is significantly easier to live with on a day to day basis.

Oh, and on a personal note, I'd like to congratulate him for the staggering expansion of his knowledge and skills since we first started working together on these things. I feel now that I can be pretty free to design what I like, and barring limitations with the skinning engine itself, it can be achieved... Its a liberating feeling!

So the last thing for me to say would be to request the XBMC devs to take another look at that bug that was submitted some time ago about problems rendering rotated elements when the screen has to be scaled to match the display resolution... Because that's the only thing standing in front of another skin design that I was working on some time ago before we embarked upon Simplicity.

Enjoy the Beta, guys!

Care to maybe post your incredible skin over at http://passion-xbmc.org/addons/ ?

So we can keep up to date with all the awesomeness that includes this is in its current state, as well as the future one Wink

How do I post it myself?

I posted the GIT link, can you get it on there?

i'll handle that don't worry

I kinda like that skin, it's hot!

Just found out that several text strings are hardcode. Probably you can move them to the language string.xml. This would make translations easier.

Actually these are the text strings at Home / "Latest Movie / New Movies / Latest Episode / New Episodes..."

Cheers

Wow! The guide is awesome...

Though, I have as reported over at the fanart.tv thread, a problem with the logo for The Mentalist. It seems to act differently than the others.
Not sure quite why :/

Awesome work, really like this skin! Since I love fanart based skins I integrated random backdrops on the Simplicity homepage.

Hey igotdvds did you ever get the Movie Sets addon to work properly in this addon?

Thanks

In what aspect? Doesnt it work in itself?

And you moved the menu down, looks like someone is working on putting a mod together. I like.

Does Archive.zip (skin.simplicity\media\studios) supposed to be there?

- igotdvds - 2011-02-05

Simplicity is now on the XBMC Passion repo and can be downloaded from the addon section.

I dont think so. Huh

I'm following you over at Github, but reading "update" every time you commit to your source is a bit boring Tongue Maybe take the time to add a more descriptive message for your commits in the future?

Only because I love following changes Wink

Well is there in your repo, a freaking 10Mb zip with all the studio flags. Suggest you delete file and push.

Will do. Mostly its little things not worth mentioning. Anything big will be in the changelog.
