You can try this solution, works great with my RPi2 in combination with a One4all remote.
Remote Pi Board

Wow... Pi ecosystem never ceases to amaze me...
WOW!
At €19.90 EUR its only 1/2 of the price of a RPi2. Bargain !

All to save a Bee's Dick worth of power the RPi2 consumes when idle Wink
Suggest people stop thinking this little RPi2 is like a energy hungry monster HTPC.
Very old school ways of thinking.

But if it makes people feel all warm and fuzzy then.....

Running an Odroid C1, as well as a standard x86 Linux box.

With the latest builds, the C1 has been rock solid stable and very nice. I'm running Android, and it handles all the 1080p content I throw at it perfectly. Normal HDMI to the TV setup. Best, it also runs Netflix and web based streaming flawlessly too.

I'm definitely of the opinion the C1 is an ideal dirt-cheap alternative to the Pi2 if you want Netflix as well. Of course, you can run regular Linux too, but I've found Android works really well for my purposes, and is a bit more bulletproof.

Does the odroid do aml decoding for video? Be neat if it does as aml does great deinterlacing for live TV.

I couldn't say from experience, as I don't have a suitable live TV source to check. There are external players that support it, and I know the recent odroid Kodi builds have hardware decoding, but I'm NOT positive that includes aml.

Alert !
Some people including Noggin and myself are having serious issues with HDMI sync and HDMI Audio glitches, especially with a refresh rate of 50Hz or greater on the ODROID-C1. Support to fix this issue is severely lacking on ODROID's part. Sad
I would only buy one for perfectly synced 24p HD Netflix and HEVC decoding to play content that an RPI2 cannot. And even then run only with a refresh rate of 24Hz and no AVR.

I also disagree with Wintersdark about Android and bulletproof in regards to reliable HEVC decoding when using Kodi, which is far more reliable running Ubuntu 14.04 & Kodi Isengard on this device.

De-interlacing on the OC1 / S805 is very good. It does Advanced motion adaptive edge-enhancing de-interlacing, producing nice results. Pity the 50Hz Audio glitch ruins viewing tho.

Hmm, that would be an issue, I'm looking for another box to do 1080i50 live TV and Netflix, shame this has a problem at 50hz.

Cant say I've had any audio glitches whatsoever. I'd like a sample video to test, though, if you don't mind - one that causes problems on yours. I'm interested if its device specific, of just that none of my content applies.

That's not what I meant by bulletproof. I meant, its been completely stable, impossible to screw up. It requires no knowledge beyond how to use a phone to set up - something non-openelec Linux builds often stumble on. It Just Works. I'm not slighting Ubuntu in any way - I'm sure that's better for some, but I'm more comfortable with Android these days.

RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - Wintersdark - 2015-05-20

Where I was going with the first post, though, is that if you want a very cheap, easy box that'll essentially run like a Pi2 except with Netflix etc, the C1 is fantastic for that. Its not going to handle really high end stuff that the pi2 can't, but for many of us regular media + Netflix is the target.

Just search the Web for 1080/50i MPEG2 video at a high bitrate and set the GUI to 50Hz. Usually TV transmissions. I don't have a fast upoad link here.

BTW..3D MVC decoding will be coming to AMlogic devices, the talented dev. Koying is coding currently.

there's a 4000-response thread with plenty of feedback and a pretty decent wiki page too; both would suggest you skip the i3 and just get the Celeron 2955U

There's just no real performance benefit from a Kodi perspective

RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - wrxtasy - 2015-05-21

Its my understanding that the i3-4040U with Intel® HD Graphics 4400 does provide Hybrid hardware decoding of the HEVC codec. You would have to run Windows I would think, plus I don't think Kodi yet has support for Hybrid HEVC decoding.

https://communities.intel.com/thread/59216

The i3 should however give you a bit more grunt for HEVC Software decoding over the Vanilla Chromebox Celeron 2955U.

Matt D,
Have you done any casual software decode HEVC testing Intel i3-4010U vs Celeron 2955U ?
