RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - fritsch - 2015-11-10 No idea - no contact at all. The work is done by koying. Integration into a sane AE interface was not yet discussed but is on the agenda. (I may be wrong of course) as fritsch mentioned, I also found this: http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2015/09/30/shield-geforce-now-google-fiber/ Quote:5: Home Theater Buffs Unite that doesnt mean it will work on KODI now but atleast the hardware is capable of doing so. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - Maverikkk - 2015-11-10 Hello guys, I used for a year the minix x8h plus, not it was broken so I'm looking for a new player. I have a 4k Tv so I used the player with 4k and 1080 input. Do you have any suggestion to buy the best 4k player? (nvidia shield is to expensive) I'm really confused between Minix(again)/ HiMedia Q5 / wetek ecc ecc RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - hdmkv - 2015-11-10 If 4K is important, then nVidia Shield TV (yes, it's pricey, but worth it). WeTek Core would be second choice. If full 3D is important, then HiMedia Q5 or Raspberry Pi 2. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - wrxtasy - 2015-11-14 Don't know where you are reading that incorrect info. Of course it Bitstreams HD Audio both in Linux / OpenELEC and Windows: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=211925&pid=1905913#pid1905913 http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=211925&pid=1886014#pid1886014 http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=211925&pid=2106136#pid2106136 RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - egtrev - 2015-11-14 (2015-11-14, 12:10)wrxtasy Wrote: Don't know where you are reading that incorrect info. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - Acadia - 2015-11-15 Uhm...not sure where to post. I'm new. I was wondering if someone could help me build an htpc or nas+htpc to play kodi. I have boxee and its days are numbered, and I have 8 external hard drives full of media. My ex boyfriend used to do all this stuff and I've been reading for a week and am a bit lost. I want to backup (raid?) maybe 4-6tb of storage. So 8-12tb of hdd would be needed I think. I I've read on Qnap vs Synology, and it's so expensive that I wonder if I could build a nas instead given that I'm such a noob. Or should I not bother and just do an htpc all in one with 2 4tb drives. Anyhow, I need to know what to build for my huge avi/mkv media collection and mp3s to stream on my hdtv and iPad/iPhone. I'd do a straight hdtv with Kodi on iOS or windows if not for the fact that I have soooo many ext Hdds that I need to consolidate into one and backup. What's the easiest thing for me to do? Buy a Qnap and just use that? Qnap and htpc? Or are custom nas fairly easy to build. I game too. Forgot to mention that...WOW and COD. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - hdmkv - 2015-11-18 Acadia, welcome, but that's one loaded post! Synology, Qnap, etc. are pricey, but easy to use and very reliable. For budget options, there's unRAID, FreeNAS, etc., for which I'd ask in their forums or in SmallNetBuilder forum. For a gaming-capable HTPC, I'll let forum members chime in (as I'm not into gaming). What'll help is knowing your complete video playback needs: 3D, HD audio, full BD rips playback? RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - Acadia - 2015-11-18 Thanks Needs are 1080p, no 3D (idk!) and don't care about future proofing for 4K much. I don't rip or play Blurry disks. Just straight downloading of 1080pm mkv files usually. and HD audio might be cool. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - Balinus - 2015-11-20 edit - Posted a new thread. RE: Pick the Right Kodi Box (UPDATED FEB 2015) - jeffjoker - 2015-11-24 Personally I have the Chromebox and am more than happy with it, I have recommended it to a few people and they were all very satisfied It's in my home theater with a very nice 1080p projector, I want a fast and clean (Image and sound) experience I only use very high quality file, mostly full BR rips Just hope the dev guys would find time and dev the full 3D (from ISO) on it I am not that much a 3D enthusiast but since that's the only limitation so far I have a few 3D files, some side by side, some top bottom and some ISO, definitely much better in full 3D than the other 2 I also have openelec on a raspberrry pi 1B, pretty cool and efficient but quickly not powerful enough (HEVC...) I plugged it on a TV and it s avout enough, I might upgrade it for a pi2 or something a bit even more powerful but no real need |
