RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - butchabay - 2013-01-16 You can even pick confluence skin as base. Don't expect a step by step guide. There are a lot of people here helping out each other. If you have questions just ask. You can learn a lot about how these new pages are used by looking at other Frodo skins. Confluence is a great example. RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - obelisk79 - 2013-02-03 Hitcher, I am still using Eden and was looking to start skinning with your foundation link, but when I click the dropbox link you provided, I get a 404 error. Any chance of a mirror or new link? -Obelisk RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - Kib - 2013-02-03 I think you can download it from Hitcher's repository : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=119232 RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - obelisk79 - 2013-02-03 It's complicated to explain, but i can't use the repo right now. I'm editing home.xml at first and I'm trying to set a global background for the skin which I presume is covered by the GlobalBackground include in includes.xml. I'm editing the following control without success. PHP Code: <control type="image"> I'm replacing black-back.png with the background of my choice by nada. What schoolboy error am I making here? RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - TheRed - 2013-02-27 Anyone free to point me in the right direction? RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - Hitcher - 2013-02-27 Have you put it in the other_textures folder? RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - Kib - 2013-02-27 I usually use tail to keep an eye on the log file while I am working. I only started skinning recently and am ' learning on the job' but that, and the ability to bind a key to reload the skin has helped me immensely. RE: Skinning for beginners - Foundation skin, skinning tools, and tips - butchabay - 2013-02-27 Yeah, mapping 2 keys, reload skin and minimize xbmc are very useful.
