I don't have either of those installed. I did install UpdateBeGone from NitoTV as advised but it still crashes back to the Apple Menu.

Since you're on 4.2.1, have you tried an official build and does it do the same thing?

The xbmc.log you posted doesnt show any media being played back, so you may want to try for another log.

You probably want to mention this new feature in latest nightly

Regards,

Thanks for reminding me!

Guys amet has commited code to do the timezone setup FROM XBMC! No more needing to fiddle with command line tools. Everyone buy amet a beer.

Regards,

Why as the ATV2 software since 4.2 (iOS 4.3) has a time zone setting.

I only have XMBC and update be gone installed, unless the jailbreak added it (Seas0npass).

I am still on (iOS 4.2) until nightly build fix is official Smile

Regards,

Ah sorry, good point...

Although XBMC should surely detect the iOS version then as this option is not applicable in newer ATV software, although it doesn't hurt anything.

[update]
Just installed latest nightly 16 May and this new code BREAKS the correct time on iOS 4.3 (ATV) inside XBMC.

I had to manually select my location again (in XBMC) to get it to display right, even though the system time was set to London and was fine in XBMC before this update.

Added this info to the comit notes.

Crash out of Movie browse - nickzeff - 2011-05-18

AppleTV 2G
iOS 4.2.2 (2203)
Git: 20110515-8b3a9fc Compiled May 15 2011
apt-get for official build. ssh for nightly build

xbmc.log http://pastebin.com/p3avFg1M
syslog http://pastebin.com/pCsjuZG4

Hi. Searched this thread - pretty sure this hasn't been posted.

I crash out of XBMC after clicking through the movie thumbnails in library mode (infoWall view). Simply scrolling up and down through the thumbnails seems to cause it. It may take a few seconds or a minute or two.

You can see the crash around May 19 00:37, I think.

Let me know if you need any further details.

wow, I've never see "LTSBS: Got OS memory notifcation: level 3", normally when you hit level 2, oomkiller reaches out and kills lowtide.

something is consuming memory. oomkiller will not let an app crash the os by running out of memory.

I also see lots of strange warnings and errors in your syslog. not sure what's that all about.

Oh dear. Is there any more analysis I can do or any more info you want me to provide?

Not sure what is consuming so much memory. I don't have anything else external to the OS running on the box except nito/xbmc.

It seems that the http://hadm.net/~keith/xbmc_atv2/latest_atv2.deb link is unavailable currently. Is there a mirror or is the file perhaps being updated?

Thanks for your hard work!

just went from stable release to the latest nightly and recieved an error about the moviedb being broken - and now under "set content" I no longer have movies as an option - just tvshows or music videos.

is this normal?

Yup, the timezone change broke 4.3 stuff. A fix is in (or forthcoming) so next build will be corrected. Amet owes everyone who bought him a beer half of it back.
