(Looks good. It resolved the delay I was seeing in the July 6 build. It'd take 15-20s for video to start after pushing PLAY.)

UPDATE: spoke too soon, the delay still occurs in a dir with 15 files (each one 350Mb), atv2 must be busy figuring something out with all the data/files in there

Extract Thumbnails maybe?

Rohirm Wrote:I installed this new build and on startup it notified that all of the addons (movie, music etc. scrapers) are not compatible. Do I have to wait for updated addons or is this a bug?

You should be able to go into the Addons Manager under Settings and force refresh of every disabled addon, it's in the context menu.

after few minutes it was downloaded.
Not tested yet, struggling with NFS problems. Smile

Konrad77 Wrote:Hi, thanks for the new build!

Just out of curiosity, which compiler do you use? Default in xCode 3.x is GCC but xCode 4 uses both LLVM (which produces faster code in some cases (well most cases)). Can XBMC be built with LLVM 2.x or even 3.0 (xCode 4.2)?
Thanks!

Hey Konrad,
I actually tried building with LLVM 2.0 and build process fails. It even fails when using LLVM GCC 4.2 instead of standard GCC 4.2.

So I guess we have to wait for that a little longer. By the way: I had lots of trouble with LLVM when submitting my iPhone Apps to iTunes Connect. Sometimes the build was released without error, BUT I got many negative feedback with incompatible devices and / or firmware versions. And other times the build with LLVM was rejected because of crashes I couldn't reproduce, while the same code built with LLVM GCC didn't make any problems.

So, long story short: I am keeping LLVM GCC as my default compiler. LLVM 2.0 and 3.0 are still very buggy.

EmKay

It was the subtitles slowing things down. They weren't necessary so I deleted them and video playback started nice and quick again... probably not a version specific thing.

Hi Keith:

Thanks for the build.

I received an error when I tried to play 1080p MKV files, but I didn't crash. A message came up that said "playback could not begin."

When I tried SD MKV files, I had no issue.

The two I tried were for "300" and "A Few Good Men."

The log says something about not being able to locate the codec. The log is long, but here's a portion of it.

Here also is the systemlog if necessary.

I did not think the crash log was necessary since I didn't technically crash.

Also one other thing (and this could just be a dumb setting I have wrong) 640X480 SD MKV's that I played were shrunken down pretty significantly on my screen. In video settings, I have this set to display as "Normal" -- I didn't think I would have to zoom in on them at all. If that's just me not knowing how the hell my ATV works, please just ignore. :-)

Thanks again for all your hard work!

not sure we support matroska, webm now. find some h264 videos.

- Sarlic - 2011-07-12

Davilla, is it possible that XBMC is reading the file incorrectly? I've ripped all of my MKVs as h264 using DVDFab's h264 MKV audiocopy profile. Is there a way I can independently verify what type of MKV this is?

And was this change literally just made in *this* nightly, as I was able to play my MKVs in the last nightly (when it didn't crash) and in 10.0.9?

Thanks very much!

- Sarlic - 2011-07-12

Just as a quick additional note, XBMC lists both movies in my library as H.264.

- Sarlic - 2011-07-12

Confirmed -- something else is going on here, as I just got both files to play after selecting them a few times each. Got the error that it couldn't start the playback, but if I kept trying it finally played.

Let me know if there's any other info I can provide for you, but I guess so far I'm the only one with the issue.

Also on a side note, on the Confluence skin, the contextual menu popup loads much more easily from the Library view (context menu consistently pops when holding the menu button) but it unfortunately continues to be a pain in the File Browser view (generally just goes up a level when holding the menu button down, instead of popping the context submenu.)

Many thanks to you all for your continued efforts, sorry for the multiple posts!

google 'mediainfo', nice app. it's listed in most faqs in the stickies.

Hey davilla, memphiz,

have you already looked into the fan art loading problem? That is really annoying...

Thanks,
EmKay

No you aren't the only one. I have the exact same issue. Only had a 10 minute windows of opportunity to test, but same issue as you described. Logs to follow soon.

[EDIT] http://pastebin.com/7jZTS3gU Thanks devs, don't have any issues with any of my media on the 10.0-9 stable.
