Here's my xbmc.log for my atv2

running July 18th nightly

http://pastebin.com/fgmdByDg

When i try to stream icefilms the stream plays for 2 seconds then reverts back to the megaupload links, this is also the same problem on my ipad, i can add a log from this also if necessary.

Thanks in advance for any help

chuckles Wrote:Just quickly, I'm getting a crash when coming back from pause. Seems to only be when I'm sitting on pause for a while (maybe coming back from Dim screensaver maybe?)

I'll try and get constant replication, so a can get a debug log up
meanwhile here is crash report and lines in syslog around crash in case they help
Crash:
http://pastebin.com/5Wiv3Pkt
Syslog:
Code:
Jul 22 16:28:38 Apple-TV ReportCrash[670]: libMobileGestalt loadBasebandMobileEquipmentInfo: Could not establish connection to commcenter
Jul 22 16:28:38 Apple-TV ReportCrash[670]: libMobileGestalt copyInternationalMobileEquipmentIdentity: Could not get mobile equipment info dictionary
Jul 22 16:28:39: --- last message repeated 1 time ---
Jul 22 16:28:39 Apple-TV ReportCrash[670]: Saved crashreport to /var/mobile/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/AppleTV_2011-07-22-162838_Apple-TV.plist using uid: 0 gid: 0, synth

oh, i'm using GIT 20110718 IOS 4.3 ATV2 4.2.2

I'm seeing the same thing (with same environment) - I don't know if I have the time to upload a crashreport/debug log before having to leave. But I can confirm the bug exists on other installations as well.

Ok
captured the crash when resuming from pause
File was a h264 mkv but I've had it do the same thing with avi xvids
Using NFS (linux NFS server)

Syslog:
http://pastebin.com/N9G5jcdF

CrashReport:
http://pastebin.com/Pmv8LR3T

xbmc debug log:
http://pastebin.com/mHZcnnSP

You'll notice i had several pause restart attempts, to get the crash I had to leave it in pause for quite a while (I'll stop there I'm sure you can read timestamps)

GIT 20110718 IOS 4.3 ATV2 4.2.2

Ger Teunis Wrote:First problem is that you should have used pastebin.
Your post is messing it al up now.

Thanks for your advice, changed my topic to use pastebin. Anyone knows if blueray videos are supported? MediaInfo redirects me to a site with a specific code x264 (http://www.videolan.org/developers/x264.html) does this mean this file type is not supported for xmbc?

Sorry if this is a noob question, just installed xmbc on my appletv and don't have any other movies at the moment than my private movies shot by my canon camera.

This crash happens to me since months - long before NFS support was in. At least to me - its aknown bug ...

edit: mmhh should consider, that i use nfs much longer as all others during development ... will have a look at it when at home ...

There is as far as i know only hardware acceleration on files coded in h264. Your file is AVC, and needs to be recoded to h264 for it to work on the AppleTV's limited hardware.

- emkay - 2011-07-22

As far as I know AVC and H.264 should be the same - just different names for the same thing:

H.264 is an ITU-T standard and MPEG-4 AVC is an ISO/IEC standard - but they are jointly maintained and are technically identical.

Does that mean it should work, but is currently not working, and is a bug?

I am running the latest nightly (18 july)

Or do i have to recode the movies to be able to be displayed?

New builds!

http://xbmc.hadm.net

Courtesy of Memphiz again we have new builds. I'll be camping all weekend up in Northern California, talk to you guys next week!

I'm phasing out the old url, so I put in a redirect.

http://xbmc.hadm.net is the correct one.

Thanks Keith , that fixed my ipad streaming issues with icefilms, hopefully it will be the same on the atv2, have a good camping trip Big Grin

can someone confirm if I'm installing nightly build the correct way?

1.ssh [email protected].......
2.wget http://xbmc.hadm.net/latest_atv2.deb
3.dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb
4.rm latest_atv2.deb

also, to check the build i'm running
1. settings>>right click remote>>system info
2. this is what's showing "XBMC PRE-11.0 Git:20110722-e825052 (Compiled: Jul 22 2011)"

am i doing it right? TIA

Although I didn't see anything in commits that address these issues thought I'd just post my observations (I do have a new issue to go with them Smile)

v20110722

Still slow to load fanarts and start up video
Still crashes when return from pause (after long pause time ~10mins)

I've also just noticed that since nightly 20110718 xbmc will no long ask me if I want to continue partially played movies, just starts them from the begginning again

This version so far is working great. My fanart is loading quite quickly! Thanks for the update!

I've only seen this issue with movies I was playing during an xbmc crash (i.e. the pause-crash). If I use the menu button during a movie, xbmc will ask me if I want to resume when I choose the movie again.
