I upgrade my librtmp.dll as suggested above, and am using looi's latest version.
Still no go on HGTV.ca or CTV.
Tried it on a 2nd computer and it wouldn't work on that one either.
Both computers running windows 7. One computer was still running eden beta 3, other (my main machine) was running a recently nightly.

Can anyone help me figure out what is going wrong? I see lots of errors in the log relating to the Canada on Demand plugin, but I don't really know what they mean

I can't access anything on Canada on Demand.. I'm in the US but I tried a canadian proxy and neither lets me get anything

HGTV shows emplty folder to me on nightly linux build, rest works fine. on atv2 with eden all fine.

Canada on Demand is working for me again, including HGTV. I changed a few things all at once, so I am not sure which change solved the problem. If you attempt any of what I did, please do so at your own risk, as I don't fully understand exactly what I did and don't want to be blamed if anything breaks on your own computer!
Anyway, this is what I did:
1. Deleted %appdata%/xbmc/userdata/database/addons15.db
2. Deleted %appdata%/xbmc/userdata/database/commoncache.db
3. Deleted all files including the name "canada on demand" from %appdata%/xbmc/addons
4. Deleted all files including the name "canada on demand" from %appdata%/xbmc/addons/packages
5. Installed the latest nightly
6. Re-install latest looi version of Canada on Demand
Again, don't know which of the above steps helped, but something did the trick!

Thank you for the tip unfortunately even after following your directions to a tee, it still will not work. I noticed that some shows work in the plug-in but most content (if not all) does not work for HGTV.ca, especially Sarah Richardson shows (my wife loves Sarah's House). Continues to give me an error log.
I've also tried to install this at a different location on a laptop with the XBMC Live install, and still no go. This is getting very frustrating. BTW, I am in CT, US. Optonline is my cable provider. I've tried to it plugged in directly through my router and by wifi. Its a shame it doesn't work, andrepl plugin worked flawlessly for a couple of months there. oh well.
If any one esle has any ides I would lve to hear them, or if anyone can tell me what in the heck is going on with my log file?

Hello people! I've done my digging and tried and tried and tried to get this working with no luck. So questions to you ... the Canadian's and those abroad who know how to use this add-on.
Is there a Live Stream News channel (continous play) with Canadian content that this application can execute on my ATV2 with XBMC?
CBC / CTV / GLOBAL - national news preferably.
And... in case it's not possible through this add-on if you are aware of any other add-on that can get a Canadian News Livestream let me know.
And... in case you know that it's not possible at all ... let me know.
Thanks for any of your time. And thanks very much for the greats apps. World Live news is cool, so is Canada on Demand ... I'm just hoping I can get Canada Live News

Don't know about a "live stream" but you can watch CTV & Global news (I use COD for watching Winnipeg local news for both these channels). I am not sure how long it takes for the stations to place the content up on their webs after airing but I can tell you CTV plays most of the local content they broadcast but not all nor do they publish any national or global news segments. CTV does have a "local" segment that will appear in the COD menu which will allow you to watch some of the clips not published in the nightly news, six o'clock stream. Oh and CBC website (last I checked) was having issues with publishing local news content and therefore nothing was available for Winnipeg. It has been in this state since late last year.
Overall I am grateful and happy to have Canadian content available to me through this plugin and hope COD continues to be maintained and supported by the community!

I also noticed that special characters are not encoded correctly in my copy.."$#232" instead of an รจ. I might have some time to look at this.. not really important though.

looi - Thank you so much for your work on this. All I did is uninstall the previous Canada On Demand plugin (0.7.4 by Andre) and installed the zip file from https://github.com/looi/plugin.video.canada.on.demand. I have HGTV again.
COD is a wonderful plugin and the only reason I use XBMC. However, this thread has become incredibly technical and difficult for a newbie to find instructions on how to install it. I am planning to set up a new thread that will be maintained ONLY for installation instructions and updating the latest link. I will set up a new username and give the login information to all the main people who are working on this so that we can have a nice clean thread to refer people to. That way, even if some people stop working on the plugin, others can continue to maintain it have have a clean thread for updates. Tech details and support questions should continue to be updated here.
I'll leave all the tech details to everyone else.

I recently did an upgrade of my system and am now unable to play content from a number of stations, including CTV and Comedy Network both of which were working fine prior to the update; all cause XBMC to crash. HGTV and CBC play fine though. Anyone else experiencing issues with these stations?

Consistently, playing a video from the TVO Kids channel works for the first video, but the plugin always crashes for the 2nd and subsequent videos. The only way I've found to play a second video from this channel is to restart XBMC. I'm running OpenElec on the Raspberry Pi and this has been true for many updates of the openelec software.
Please let me know if this isn't the right place for a bug report.

I too have the same problem with Apple TV2 running Eden Final, I can watch the first TVO children video ,
then try to play another one and get a script error even the same video will not play.

It's the plugin that crashes, not XBMC. Looking at the log, there's a problem with the python code. I'm just a newbie when it comes to python. Can anyone tell what's going on from the log? Can I provide more info? I can make this crash happen any time, so getting more info. shouldn't be a problem ;-)
