Is this a Windows only issue, or is it the same problem in the OS X build? I just got a new Mac Mini and have macro blocking on the i5 system with Intel HD3000 graphics when acceleration is turned on. Not at all as bad as the screenshot in this thread, but bad enough to be unwatchable. Turning off acceleration fixes the problem, but as others have mentioned that is not an ideal solution.

The reason I'm asking is if I should follow this thread or report my problems as a separate issue.

It is a "Intel's Graphics Division is a failure" issue. All platforms are affected by their incompetence.

Guys,
I'm happy to inform you that I FOUND A SOLUTION for this problem Big Grin. Well, it's more of a workaround really, but it works Smile. I managed to play my 25GB rip without any framedrops with 20% CPU max (except when taking screenies apparently) with 23,98hz working using a 2100t. Screenshot:

I managed to do this using a pre-Eden DSplayer build of XBMC compiled by 0wing, which can be found here. All credits go t him Wink. Remember to backup your current XBMC install before trying it! (or run XBMC in portable mode)

The standard configuration isn't perfect, for example youtube doesn't show video. But, since this is a DSplayer build, this can be fixed. Haven't had time to do that yet, but i'm confident it will work. Also, when playing a video don't just hit enter, but press "c" and choose "play using..."--> "Dsplayer". This can be changed, follow instructions in the wiki. I plan on playing around with codec configs untill everyting works properly somewhere in the next couple of days.

Damn that screenshot almost brings tears to my eyes......I had been using DSplayer in the past but it sort of went away. 0wing seems to have brought it back from the dead. For those of us who use Windows, directshow codecs are where its at.

I'm half tempted to re-purpose my current HTPC into a server and build a new i3 htpc.

Promising, indeed!

Hi,

I've the same issue with a brand new (small) htpc made with an ASROCK H67M-ITX/HT and CORE i3-2100. I've read the whole topic, hoping for a solution. New XBMC user I don't know how "trac" is working, does your link mean that the problem is just referenced (and on his way to be solved) or is it some kind of patch to apply manually ?

Thx Cool

The patch has been commited so should prob appear in the next nightly build. Smile

Great ! Can't wait to try it out Rofl

Should be in the last nightly, compiled 2011-08-17.

I'm not at home (and I have a HD 6450 installed atm), so I leave the trial and error to someone else.

I'll give it a try tonight, it's already downloaded, installation after work.

Edit : Can I install it simply over 10.1 version ? Will it keep my settings ?

Promising indeed, but it also states that VC-1 movies don't work yet. Hope that gets fixed soon too.

Yes, you can install it over 10.1, but you won't be able to downgrade to 10.1 unless you've exported your library before the upgrade.

- ElTRiC - 2011-08-17

Well it was promising... but it doesn't work Sad
It's worser than before, no more macrobloking... But no more else, the screen flickers and turns black, sound is playing for two or three seconds and out too... I must kill xbmc with alt+F4.

Edit : turning off DXVA2 brings xbmc to crash too when trying to play the same mkv movie, maybee another problem ? Can i post somewhere my issue ?

I've seen your quote AFTER i tried out the nightly, luckily the downgrade worked without loosing the library.

Wierd... I guess you have already installed the latest intel GPU drivers? Cause it works fore me.
This does not change anything when dxva is disabled. Can be something else in the nightlies causing the crash though.
