[Request] Fanart2 (second fanart view) - voochi - 2011-04-23

Hi,
I use the fanart view and I would love to see a fanart view that contained the plot, just move the name up a bit and put the plot underneath, something like this:

I know that the mediainfo view contains the plot but I prefer the look of the fanart view with the list over on the side.

What do you think? Would this be possible for the next version? I tried to do it myself but I couldn't figure out the skin language. Sad

I'd also like to have the plot/outline in the fanart viewSmile

i could do one of two things.

1. add an option to show the plot(outline) instead of the genre/year runtime info
2. add an 'infopanel' similar to the one in slide & item view.

Hi, thanks for the reply,

Hmm i'd like to keep the runtime/genre/year if possible.

Maybe something like this?

(or maybe the other way around with the plot outline above the genre/runtime/year info, maybe that would look better).
Would that fit?

Option 1 would work for me. Thanks for considering it.Smile

not really, it just doesn't match the rest of the skin design.

- bobrap - 2011-04-25

Ronie, have you considered option 1? Thanks again for all your great work!

sure, wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise.

just need to test and see how it looks, before i can make up my mind

Great, thanks. Can't ask for more!

added in svn.

Skin Settings > View options > Fanart - Movies - Plot outline

it will fall back to the full plot if no plot outline is available.

I was missing some details like plot outline so I've modified View-Fanart.xml myself.

I can share the code if anyone is interested.

Please share the code, it would be much appreciated! Nod

You can download version for GIT here. Cheers. Cool

Thanks ezechial for the new view, looks great.

I have two little problems:
1) I don't seem to have the Bluray covers any more, just the poster with nothing around it.
2) On some movies it puts a little trailer icon over the director/runtime (see pic)

I copied the xml files from your mediafire link above.

voochi: What what does your setup looks like?
trasparency skin - svn or 10.1?
xbmc - git or 10.1?
what's your display resolution and xbmc platform?

I'm using these files with svn transparency and xbmc git version just fine. Maybe there is a problem with older versions, so if you answer me the above I will check and try to fix it.
