Thanks DEV Team. Eden Beta working flawlessly here (Win 7 install). Many hours of use over the last two days!
figofago Wrote:Thanks but still don't get it. If I understand it right, files copied to movies directory should be vissible even if not processed by the scraper (this would be great)? If so, it doesn't work for me. Still need to access files mode to see them. What is the expected behaviour?
A3Baak Wrote:I have a centralized database running for al my XBMC installations, when i tried it with Eden it was incredibly slow. Was something changed in the way Eden handles mysql databases?
Or do i have to make a new database for Eden?
VonMagnum Wrote:It'd be nice if multiple XBMC boxes could automatically sync any updates to the database with each other as well so I don't have to manually do it across almost a half dozen boxes. The AppleTV interface is old and not updated for V1 boxes anymore, but it can still sync them all via iTunes with zero issues on that end.
VonMagnum Wrote:The most disappointing missing feature is still no meta tag reading support for video files (M4V or MKV) despite the fact the audio tag reader can read them if the files are renamed to audio files (meaning little effort would be required to adapt it to handle video tags). This makes it impossible for me to ditch the Apple interface since many movies I have are foreign and what not and the DB lookups don't recognize them. Besides, I spent a lot of time making my tags the way I want them (for various cover art, descriptions ,etc.) and it just ditches them in favor of some generic scraper look-up. Imagine if meta tag reading wasn't support for audio formats. Well, video has grown up, guys. Scraping along with AVI is so last decade. M4V and MKV containers both support modern tagging. XBMC should too, IMO.
Quote:I was hoping to go CrystalHD and Linux+XBMC at one point for full 1080p support, but the interface issues make that impossible.
Quote:Hopefully, I'll find another all-in-one solution at some point. But with newer audio formats that come with Blu-Ray and now 3D Blu-Ray as well, sadly this (ATV Gen1 or Gen2 + XBMC) isn't going to be it any time soon regardless.

tcman47 Wrote:Eden is very fast compared to Dharma, thanks.
I am however not fond of the home splash screen, where is mostly black and just says xbmc eden beta (or whatever) in faint white lettering, can someone direct me to a link on this site about how I can make my own xbmc splash screen?
Thanks
