[Windows] Bluray backups doesn't play smoothly on HTPC. Help to find a problem
#1
Hi,

My setup is in signature.
According to specs and reviews - this configuration should play Bluray disks/backups/isos without any problems.
But I see a little slideshow during playback of Bluray disks or very big MKV files (more than 20GB).

System installation and configuration is default. No changes or additional software has been installed other than XBMC and latest drivers from vendor sites.

System is equiped with 1.5TB WD GP HDD which played lossless content fine in my previous player (TVIX 6500). Now I moved that disk to HTPC.

Could you tell me where to look from the start?
CPU is not loaded (just some 20% or more). Memory? 8GB must be enough.

Maybe data reading speed from HDD is a problem. How should I measure that?

Try disabling all post-processing in the ATI drivers (catalyst center). Also, if enabled, disable the "Sync playback to display" and "Adjust framerate to ...?" in XBMC.

I had stuttering issue at first with the same APU with all these post-processing options with 1080p files (Planet Earth... 5GB for 50min).

might be that too much processing is going on indeed...
revert your ATI control panel to default settings...
and so as XBMC,,,
then try again,
