[LINUX] Is there a way to get XBMC to not disable the ubuntu screensaver/screenlock?

I am running XBMC eden beta 1 on ubuntu 11.10. When I run xbmc in full screen, the ubuntu screensaver/screen lock becomes disabled. I would like to have it still function while xbmc is running. Is there any way to do this?
