$300 Pre-built HTPC for XBMC?
#1
I was using a refurb Apple TV 2 to to play my media via XBMC, but unfortunately, a lightning storm claimed its life. I'm now looking for another cheap alternative since I love the XBMC interface and am upset about going back to the folder structure of the Xbox and PS3 for the time being. My budget is $300 at the most.

I've looked at this thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?pid...post843683, and would like something in the group 4-6 range. Unfortunately, the boxes that are recommended are already outdated and I can't find them in-stock or for reasonable prices online. Does anyone know of any current cheap boxes that will suit my needs? Thanks!

Ha ha. By specific specs, I was referring to any minimum processor/graphics card (if going with an Intel model) I should be looking for. I'm not sure what XBMC needs to run smoothly.

I'd recommend looking into the Acer Revo RL70-UR10P.

It comes pre-installed with Windows 7, a wireless keyboard, remote, and all you'd have to do is install XBMC.
I've set this up for a few friends/neighbors and it gives them exactly what they were looking for in a HTPC.

I advice the same... this one is great. Wink I did a thread on it somewhere.

This is an interesting bare-bone unit. I don't know if it is available in US.

Or if like to add a videoboard or audiocard and sata 3
