I confirm the bug and will pass the info to the developer.

Does anyone know if it's possible to set the subtitle transparency using DSPlayer with AVSplitter and LAV? I have a plasma screen with some very stubborn burn-in caused by subtitles which is in the process of being replaced with a newer model. I'd prefer the new one not to have burn-in, and I'm sure I can tweak the way subtitles are displayed to prevent this.

I tried everything I can think of: different browser, firewall off, different PC, different PC from different IP address. Nothing worked. Chrome for example gives error “403 Forbidden”.

Are those video upscaling options going to be implemented or can they be activated in XBMC DSPlayer somehow?
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Vid...o_settings

I'm especially interested in Lanczos3 and perhaps (a better) implementation of spline and/or nnedi3. Most of those are already available as Avisynth scripts.
I've played around with ffmpeg raw and upscaling filters for XBMC DSPlayer which didn't end up as desired (expectably) as the upscaling seems to be done before my filters kick in.

Can the upscaling filter be exposed to the filters config section somehow?

This by far is the most important feature for me missing from the DSPlayer branch as I'm watching several SD quality videos which just look poorly when upscaled with the bilinear default filter .

It is for DVDPlayer and will be available in 13.0. For DSPlayer it won't use that settings at all . The proper way for DSPlayer to upscale in insert FFDShow RAW as extra filter and config it to do upscaling instead. So when XBMC get output from DSPlayer it would come out as desired resolution.

You can read this article as reference to howto setup FFDShow post processing for different resolution

I've tried that, but it seemed to conflict with the "internal?" resizing which seems to be done before the picture gets to the FFDShow RAW filter.
I'm using the FFDShow RAW filter for SVP (Smooth Video Playback) currently.

From my experience it seem the the other way, internal resizing & scaling didn't kick in until it left DSPlayer.

I just checked, it seems to be a problem with the script SVP injects. When I turn off SVP I can control all of the resizing that's done via FFDShow RAW.
SVP seems a little weird with its injection logic though. I have to turn it off, on and off again to stop the per-frame-freeze that has happened to me before.

After many years of attempting to have DSPlayer render 'Forced Subtitles', I happened to stumble across xy-vsfilter, with instructions for use of subtitles within DSPlayer - see https://code.google.com/p/xy-vsfilter/ - the section "XBMC Users", under Install. Configuring xy-vsfilter to 'forced subs only' works perfectly with DSPlayer in my set-up.

I know some have had success with AVSplitter, but I never could get it to work, now finally I have the missing piece of the puzzle.

Hope this might help others in a similar situation.

But then you lose ability to select subtitle stream from XBMC gui. Works fine with certain situation but won't have much use if your fine contain more than one subtitles.

That's true and I didn't say it was for everyone - I don't need multiple subtitle stream rendering or for that matter multiple subtitles, therefore as a 'forced subtitle' solution its perfect - for me.

Anyone know if there is a way to use DSPlayer for the video/video rendering stream, but XBMC's dvdplayer for audio?

eg.

Currently when I'm playing say an MKV file, I use LAV filters for both video and audio. What I want is for it to continue using LAV for video, but XBMC's internal audio decoder/renderer for audio.

Thanks!
