Which part of the current upnp-av implementation launches XBMC on my TV connected device?

XBMC can't launch itself if it is not already running...

This would be the same for UPnP or DIAL.

I know this an old thread but are there any hopes tagt dial will be implemented in kodi?

Maybe a plug-in? Having native support for casting to Kodi for free on Android would be great. For screen casting mainly. Would that be different protocol than DAIL?
