RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds
%¤#&%¤#& Sorry Miappa - you're right, i had an entry in my gpu_mem= 128 I changed this to 256 and this made no difference.

I then tried to delete this line, and used the one in post 1: gpu_mem_512=256 ... and everything is back working, stupid me.

Also solved the share problem - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=184785

Sorry I didn't catch this earlier.

Regards
JJ

But as you have tried 256 I don´t know what else to test.

Hi popcornmix,
First of all thanks for all the great things you are doing with all the other developers.

The change mentioned worked great, I need to do additional testing but so far everything looks great.

Any feedback on how to fix the "Back" key on the remote?

Funny, the answer is 2 posts above your last post. Maybe it's worth skimming the thread before asking questions that have been answered numerous times.
If I have been of help, please add to my reputation as a way of saying thanks, it's free.

I´m glad it´s working for you, but something is weird. Wink
Your log states 256/256 split but you still had that issue.
Did you change anything else?

Thanks again! Nothing changed but now there are plenty subtitles addons in the rep :-) This build is really fast compared to older ones!

(2014-02-22, 21:45)miappa Wrote: If you come from Frodo, delete addon*.db from /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata/Database and reboot.
Subtitle services are available (several) in the Gotham repo, I use Opensubtitles, Podnapisi and Subscene myself.
Works really good.

Edit: See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...e_services

Hi

Only thing I can think of was moving the pi into another workgroup, played a little with shares (ip vs. names) ..... I'll try later to add the old line back, and see how it behaves.

(2014-02-19, 09:37)jeroenz Wrote: I've done some testing last night with this version, and encountered another troublesome DVD. This time it's a dutch chick-flick called 'Alles is Familie'.

I see the problem. I've done some debugging, but the failure is not in any Pi specific code.
CDVDInputStreamNavigator::Read() never returns because ProcessBlock() continually returns NAVRESULT_NOP.
Even when a stop message comes through it hangs because this thread is stuck.

Now as this isn't in Pi specific code I would expect (gotham) xbmc on other platforms to have the same issue.
Did you try playing this dvd on xbmc on pc?

Update:
I built latest gotham on x64 linux PC. Played 'Alles is Familie'. Exactly the same behaviour as Pi. Single square displayed. Wouldn't respond to stop. Had to "kill -9" xbmc to recover.
This isn't something I can fix. I suggest to post in a general xbmc forum, or open a trac ticket.

Thanks for the analysis, really helpfull. I've created a trac ticket for this issue, I hope I did it right: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/14957
B.t.w., it crashes on Windows (Frodo 12.2) too...

Edit: The trac ticket was swiftly closed with the following comment:

I just tested it and it's a known problem with libdvdnav that would behave
exactly the same way on other players that are libdvdnav-based, e.g. VLC.
See http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/14872 for an explanation and a workaround.
Don't say that VLC plays it correctly and XBMC doesn't, it's just that the
setting you have to activate in XBMC is turned on by default in VLC.
Your DVD plays OK with that setting turned on (Settings > Videos > DVDs >
Attempt to skip introduction before DVD menu).

I'll give it a try with the 'skip' option switched on. Hopefully the people working on libdvdnav will eventually come with a solution for this, or at least will try to implement something that would prevent a complete hang-up...

Updated Gotham build, XBMC master from Feb 24 + newclock3 commits + two additional commits from bavison.

Some info:
• NC3/DVDPlayer: Fix stall on seek/trickplay
• NC3/DVDPlayer: Fix for audio with no video if invoked before artwork is displayed
• Bavison/SQLite: Updated SQLite version
• Bavison/SQLite: Use mmap to accelerate SQLite file accesses

Firmware from 21st of Feb recommended.
Firmware update, recommendations and additional testing (DVDPlayer etc.), see post #1

To install XBMC build, SSH to Pi:
Code:
cd .upgrade
wget -O xbmc-13-20140224-nc3.tar.gz http://goo.gl/Vg5czG --no-check-certificate
mkdir -p xbmc-13-20140224-nc3
pv xbmc-13-20140224-nc3.tar.gz | tar xzf - -C xbmc-13-20140224-nc3
cd xbmc-13-20140224-nc3/xbmc-bcm/xbmc-bin/lib/xbmc/system
cp /usr/local/lib/libdvdcss.so.2.1.0 .
ln -sf libdvdcss.so.2.1.0 libdvdcss.so.2
ln -sf libdvdcss.so.2 libdvdcss.so
Activate new build in "Raspbmc Settings/Nightly…/Switch…”, choose new build + restart XBMC.

@jjkongen
That second nc3 commit might fix your issue, if I read that correct it might be exactly what you experienced.

That is possible. I believe the errors I saw started with "ERROR creating EglImage".

Correct, this was the first error in the log.

I can confirm that with the option 'try to skip to main menu' (or something like that) the 'Alles is familie' DVD is working as expected.
Also I tested many more DVD's with yesterday's release (without the skip option), and I must say they all work perfectly! BlushBlushBlush
Congrats on this great achievement! I hope that the new dvdplayer will make it in the next Raspbmc official release!!

Thanks a bunch...
