fyi the Chrome addon says dependencies not met for the recent Gotham monthly build, so to those who want to use this addon don';t upgrade just yet!

edit: force refresh the repo and it should instal and work fine in Gotham.

This addon works great, the Windows control utility is great. Since this is designed to work with Media Center remotes is there a reason the control utility can't be used to intercept remote presses and map them to the native Netflix hotkeys (a list of them can be found here: http://markwarren.wordpress.com/2010/03/...shortcuts/)?

So for instance in the control utility have the option to set the play button on the remote and it would activate the "Page Up" hotkey in the Chrome browser. Maybe these hotkey entries could be entered on a second page.

Is there a reason this couldn't be done?

I am using a PC with my TV as a dual monitor for XBMC. When I click anything it opens Netflix on my PC screen and not the TV. I tried making it so chrome only opens on the TV screen but that didn't help. Any idea what I can do?

When you start Chrome manually, and close it on your preferred display, doesn't Chrome remember the last used display?
I just had a quick look, but couldn't find a parameter to force chrome to use a specific display.

The browser remembers to open on the TV screen but not when Netflix launches, it always automatically opens on the PC screen every time.

Mm, i now added a setting to not use chrome in kiosk mode. Try it to setup chrome. Maybe the screen then gets remembered.
If this won't work, you probably need to try out some external tool for it...

When I select alt+F4 to exit the program, it kills Chrome but does not bring XBMC back up (it remains minimized). When I go to maximize it, it stays windowed.

Another thing, if I close XBMC anytime after using this addon and later reopen, I get "ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting" From that point I can only open the task manager and kill NetfliXBMC_utility.exe or restart the PC

When using the Control Utility, you should close the browser via the mapped key so the browser and utility get closed correctly.
If you dont need the utility, disable it via the addon settings. The "ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting" error is not related to my addon or the utility. Also got it months ago without changing something...

Edit: I cleared cookies, have restarted XBMC twice, and have disabled and reenabled the addon to no avail.

You have setup your User-Agent and it's working directly via the browser? Are you using the "Use own user profile" setting in Chrome Launcher. Then, you need to setup the user-agent there, too.
I now added a setting to not use the kiosk mode. Activate it and setup chrome so it works for you. It (hopefully) then also works with kiosk mode...

Is there a way to make the player launch in IE rather than safari or chrome? Thanks!

I'm assuming I'm missing some very simple and obvious step... but I cannot get this plug in to show in my XBMC (Frodo on Windows 7). I have installed the repository successfully, have the Chrome installed as well, the repo shows up on the list of available repositories (along with Superrepo, bluecop), but there are no addons inside... I.e. it's emplty.... What am I doing wrong any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

To all having problems installing the addon:
Download my repo and install it. Then, goto: System -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> AddonScriptorDE's Testing Repo -> Video Add-ons -> NetfliXBMC -> Install.
If the repo is empty, try a "Force refresh" via the context menu (key 'c')...

Been using this add on a lot lately. Have to say it's probably the best add on out there. Thanks!

Thanks for responding. Maybe I'm completely missing something, but the way I envisioned this working was the same way the remote works in XBMC. For instance, in XBMC when I press the play or pause button on my remote (MCE remote) it plays or pauses the video. When I do the same thing in Netflix, since the keys aren't mapped they don't do anything.

I understand that I can use up/down, left/right, but the way the config utility you provide works and the way the MCE remote is setup I cannot map the arrow keys on the remote because in XBMC they are mapped to the arrow keys as expected, but in your utility the arrow keys move between the options and there is no way to map an arrow key to an option.

Again, I feel like I'm missing something, but it seems like the buttons on the MCE remote should work the same way in this addon as they do in XBMC. This is why I suggested being able to map all the hotkeys on the page I linked to with your utility. Please let me know if I'm completely off base.

EDIT: Let me say that this addon works better than expected and everything you've implemented works as advertised, I'm just trying to make my remote work seamlessly between XBMC and Netflix.

No change here- I uninstalled the addon and reinstalled, went to videos and it still says you are not logged in. Trying a restart to see if that helps...

Edit- Removed it, reinstalled it, then removed (Del Key) the info in the username and pass, reentered it (verififying my username/pass on the website before hand).... and it works.

I would hate to think that I just typed my combo wrong the first time and I've wasted your time since then- So instead I'll casually say thanks for your fix this morning that surely must have fixed it.

Your last update just adds that missing icing. Despite several US DNS providers not wanting to play nice with this addon, it is still a superb little addition to the addon family. XBMC needed a workable Netflix solution and credit where it is due, this addon is probably the closet anyone will get to that solution using Silverlight. Congrats.

I can't figure out how to quit the fullscreen IE window either- changed the key to ESC (so it's the same as back on my Harmony One Remote), but it just shows the timebar. No exit. If I try to play something else/use the extension by alt tabbing back to XBMC, it says script failed.

If I quit xbmc with the window still open, I can't relaunch XBMC because the process for the viewer is still running (ctrl shift esc shows this). Forcing quit then allows XBMC to launch.

Weird little glitches but so far I've managed to watch three HD shows...

edit: I use the IE side instead of my preferred chrome as IE is Full Screen and chrome has the top and bottom bars, ruining the experience as well as potentially giving my plasma burn in (*long term)

You're right. Default controls are currently not mappable. I thought it's fine with the hotkeys from their site. Working perfectly for me with my remote.
I will add key mapping for most important controls with next version...

Official supported countries should be working fine. But of course, if you're living somewhere else, you need to find a working proxy/dns...

Should be working fine with IE, too. Closing Chrome is working via the mapped key but IE not?

Chrome is working fine in kiosk (fullscreen) mode. Everyone here is using Chrome without problems. I would recommend you to use Chrome also...

Easiest way should be to use an extension like this!

When using the "Use own user profile" setting in Chrome Launcher, you (of course) need to setup the user-agent for that profile, too.
For troubleshooting, you can disable kiosk mode via the (NetfliXBMC) addon settings...

Moved to XBMC just for this plugin, I'm confused on how to install this. All I get is the repository.addonscriptorde-beta.zip which contains an xml. Did install this via XBMC but don't see any difference.

Could someone guide on the steps to take to get this working?
