OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2

Swap is an option, you don't have to enable it if you don't want it (it's a swap file, not a swap partition, and defaults to 128MB). Swap should bring limited benefit for 512MB users, but could be more useful to 256MB users that may face the occasional out of memory situation which may be avoided with a small amount of swap. The downside is reduced performance while swap is used (programs and data being swapped in/out of physical memory), though hopefully this won't happen often. Better the occasional slow down than an application being killed due to lack of memory.

dual audio is not yet supported by paplayer. You could try configuring dvdplayer as the audio player.
Related, perhaps - Dual audio was working for airtunes (specifically, streaming music from iTunes on a mac or iPhone) but recently I noticed that, although dual audio is turned on, I get no analog output.
I can confirm that dual audio works on more generic recent builds (I.e. Pi chimney) but does not work with the current and recent milhouse builds. No analog output.

Are these Gotham builds?

I wonder if that has anything to do with the fernetmenta patches I leave out due to conflicts with newclock3?

So it's advisable to enable it on 256MB RPi?

yes for 256 users it could be useful .

Yes, dual audio is only supported by omxplayer.
Music now uses paplayer as default.

Dual audio works with AirTunes in OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20140116163435-r17010-g4dd0018. Do you mean default in NewClock3?
#0118 pressing back on remonte toggles fullscreen playback, is this right?!?

How do you enable it ?

I have a 512 PI
However unless I set the graphics memory to 256 in the config, when I try to play videos, I only get sound

Details here.

Not right, but doesn't do that on my setup (VRC-1100 IR dongle, custom remote.xml keymap). Enable your debug log (wiki) and post it up when you press the back button, should have details of what button is detected/processed.

Thanks, I can confirm this behaviour if I remove my custom remote.xml, so it looks like it's a problem with the default remote.xml keymap - in full screen video the back button is now mapped to "Back" rather than "SmallStepBack".

This is the commit that is responsible - not sure why the change has been made but a custom remote.xml is one solution.

No, in xbmc master, since https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3925
Are there suggestions to improve the gui speed of loading epg timeline when watching live tv. Currently when you watching live tv and press live tv remote button it almost takes 3 seconds to load tv channels or epg timeline. I have reduced the resolution from 1080 to 720p, I am using 512 pi with modest overclock 800, and using usb drive Is there something in the works to speed that up because the pvr actually works very well.

Other than this the pi feels reasonable smooth and very stable i follow this thread and install the latest updates that get released.

Thank you for great work.
Is the PVR functionality written in Python? If Python, does the timeline or EPG display use complex regular expressions, as complex regexes have been identified as the cause of considerable delays on Raspberry Pis, so minimising their use is often a way to achieve significant performance gains.
