If you don't add the advancedsettings.xml options, it shouldn't have any effect.
hmm, nothing added in my as.xml
maybe zapping info effect is from elsewhere

After a few minutes on the same LiveTV channel everything is normal. When changing channel it happens again for me.
same here
@popcornmix

When upgrading to the new Gotham build with audio changes I started to hear strange audio when running movies (all kinds).
Tried also a fresh install.
See log. Can you see something here?
Thanks

You'll need to enable debug logging in settings to get any useful information.
Ideally provide a sample (e.g. 200MB) or a file that is not behaving and I'll test it.

xbmc/peripherals/devices/PeripheralCecAdapter.h
i can't really tell what the problem is from the video, particularly as you indicate it has something to do with cec. Could you explain it, please?

of course... forgot to enable it

here it is https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0...sp=sharing
the media file and the log

I tried OMX first and had the strange noise, played with DVDplayer and it was OK
same settings both, when using 28/2 version both are fine

thanks!
I still do not understand what your complaint is.
xbmc on my Pi never change to fullscreen video when dvdplayer attempts to start a DVD with Deinterlace Video=ON if the first thing that would have been shown is a dvd menu with a picture as background.

If the dvd menu has a movie as background, the problem does not occur.
With Deinterlace Video=OFF the problem does not occur.
If a short movie clip appears before the dvd menu is presented, the problem does not occur.

Problem occurs every time, it is not intermittent.

When I see this problem, I am able to manually switch to fullscreen video mode (in fullscreen video mode I can only see a black screen), but I am able to bring up OSD when I press menu button on my remote, so I can select deinterlace=OFF and press stop. If I then start the same DVD, it works fine because now I have deinterlace=OFF.

I have "Attempt to skip introduction before DVD menu" enabled.
I have only tested on Raspberry Pi. My xbmc is popcornmix newclock3-branch, commit 450ab3e
It happens with me too. Sometimes I hear a loud noise (crackling) in standby on menus.

I'm using analog video.
