I agree with you. I can see the D and the I but it take a second look usually for me to pick it up. What you did is what this definitely needed. Would love to see it animated like the original

Ok, been playing around with this idea. This is not an existing font, just shapes I put together in illustrator.
If you rotate the K 90 degrees, turn the D counter clockwise 90 degrees, and optionally pull in all the other letters, they form the character on the bottom.
The K is made up of the I and half of the O.
The D is made up of the O and half of the I.
It can be animated so all the KODI letters come out of the little character.

Those arent even complete, missing some entries.
Speaking of entries, here is a fart in the wind. Its not meant to be a finished all jazzed up artwork, its just simple and stripped back.
1) Trying to make a logo of the word is clearly not going to work for me and will remind someone of something some shampoo or sausages, its neither.
2) Make a logo, something that Identifies with the purpose of product and new name and just wack plain text kodi under it, any font goes, I wanted something retro to try represent the history of the product.

Without a doubt, there's been some nice ones in the last few pages, but this one is still my favourite.
Simple, elegant, and to the point. Seeing as 2014 is basically the year of flat colours when it comes to UX, it fits in nicely.
I love it so much in fact, that I already made it the splash screen for my FireTV (with a few minor edits). Hope you don't mind me sharing
