Sorry, guys!
The latest VidOn XBMC didn't pass all the tests, so we cancelled the release. Hope we could release it on next Monday.

Rather have a stable release provide it helps (or ideally resolves) the buffering issues.

Due to latest information the alpha 2 version shall have the feature to adapt the video output frequency to the framrate used by the movie. This would be a big step forward. Nevertheless there are open issues which might be related to the SDK like the support of 29.970Hz framerate, HDMI sync issues (no passthrough of HD audio with certain AVRs) and support of ext4 filesystem. Lets hope Vidon will kick the SoC/SDK manufacturer into the ass to resolve these and other SDK related issues a.s.a.p.
With alpha 1 I can't set disabled video text as default for all videos. After starting the same movie again or another movie videotext is activated again. I hope this can be solved for alpha 2.

Hi Wolly Xu
Is the new stable Vidon XBMC support for AV200 (Allwinner A31)? The alpha 1 version cannot run on AV200 Android 4.2.2 (black screen with sound). However it can run on AV200 Android 4.4 (MeLe rom)
If it still cannot run on AV200 Android 4.2.2. Do you have any plan to update AV200? I don't want to hear that it's old device and we don't have any plan, or we just make a stable rom for Vidon Box first.

I just found one issue if we set to 1080p as default. Some old TV (720p) cannot display and because Android doesn't have the resolution switching feature as HD player so impossible to switch to 720p.
So if Vidon.me release the firmware 1080p, they should release 720p beside
Maybe that's Android limitation

It should auto-negotiate the max resolution with the display, other devices have no problem doing just that.

So I received my Vidon box today and can confirm at least some of the issues raised already.
Using SDK 1.2, VMC 0.1.4 beta and the XBMC Gotham alpha. Vidon connected via ethernet and directly via HDMI to 3DTV.
1. Nothing accessed via NFS will play from XBMC. NFS works from VMC, however.
2. 3D ISO playback buffers approximately every 50-60 seconds after around 30 minutes of the movie.
While it is laudable that Wolly from Vidon is here trying to troubleshoot the issues, the gap between the claims being made for this product on the Vidon website and the actual delivery should be an embarassment to Vidon at this stage. While the absence of claimed functionality is hardly unique to Vidon, the claim of "best android XBMC" should be removed, as should "most easy to use media centre" given that half of the functionality of VMC has been stripped out!

Mine behaves like an early alpha product. I've basically unplugged it & have stopped using it altogether, until such time as they get their act together (if ever) It have overall been quite a disappointment, sadly. VidOn claims to have "50 developers" working on the issues. The only saving grace in this is that it didn't cost a lot, so I'm not out too much $$

Wolly, I suggest you let those interested here test your release candidates, not just your developers. I'll volunteer and abide by rules like not disclosing in forums (until released to public), etc. May help you actually deliver worthwhile firmware updates vs. just promising and falling short.
