You can, but it wouldn't be the best idea. CrystalHD support has been dropped from the official Kodi releases.

Hi, I installed Kodi14.1 on my Apple TV 1 a few days ago following wrxtasy method, all credit goes to him, you need Crystalbuntu 2.0 installed for this to work.

If you are running Crystalbuntu2.0 with Gotham 13.2 then it does not get any easier than following the simple instructions to update to Kodi Helix 14.2 final over here:
http://forum.osmc.tv/showthread.php?tid=17422

If you are running OpenElec / Gotham 13.2 then you have to install Crystalbuntu2.0 on your ATV1's Hard Drive to get Kodi Helix or Isengard Alpha2. OpenElec / ATV1 support stopped at Gotham 13.2.

Crystalbuntu2.0 Hard Drive install here:
https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/install-crys...users/5169

I cannot make it any simpler. If you want an easy install of Kodi Isengard 15.1 final then you will have to wait for Sam Nazarko to release OSMC for the ATV1.

New to all apple tv.

I await a used ATV 1 so I can load kodi. I need component out for my older RPTV, which has max resolution of 1080i.

I read several recommendations to upgrade the to the Crystal vision card. Is this necessary if I am only using component (analog) and only 1080i? I don't mind doing so if it means videos will play better and with greater clarity, but I wasn't sure if this recommendation is based on the assumption that HDMI only will be used, and whether it applies to component.

Thanks.

Hi I have ATV1. When trying to install XMBC using a patchstick, the installation stops at "penbuntu login". Can you please give a solution for this?
