WeTek Core (24p HD Netflix / HD Audio / Lollipop / OpenELEC / 4K / HEVC)
Is there a way to change the wallpaper? I tried in settings, but nothing.

I've noticed two consistent irritations (on android):

1) When resuming video, audio is out for a .5-1 second.

2) When jumping forward or back (using left and right no the d-pad), the screen flashes for a fraction of a second.

Are there any solutions to those issues?

Thanks for report jdwoods. Please can you post kodi.log and tell us if you are using Kodi for Android or OpenELEC?

Is there any way at all to watch Amazon Instant Video on this?

Loving the device so far!

Anyone tried any roms with an XBOX 360 Controller?

wouldn't editing the build.prop solve this if we changed it to a Sony device?

Yes... but, in 480p (as it's the tablet version): instructions here (tried on Shield TV; also works on Core).

You'll likely never see a proper Amazon TV app w/full HD or 4K on Core, Shield TV or any other device besides Amazon's own Fire TV gen2, and some smart TV's that have agreements w/Amazon.

I installed Amazon Video using Aptoide, the alternative App Store. The Amazon Video app was not available from the alternative store natively, but there is a function to search sub-stores on the web that are hosted by Aptoide. I found it there and downloaded. The App works. I assume it is 480p, as hdmkv has noted.

Lame.

What about the build prop idea?

Also, I just downloaded the Amazon Instant Video app from the amazon app, and it seems to be playing. The Man in the High castle is playing now.

Probably the smartest and easiest way to install. Is it restricted to 480p?

Yep ... Amazon (and Netflix for that matter) are pains-in-the-a**es. They're very controlling of which devices are sanctioned to view HD and/or 4K streams of their content. In a way, I can't blame them as Hollywood studios are paranoid about piracy, and they're simply catering to content providers. All the while 1080p and even 4K now versions of movies/TV shows are being pirated.

Its the same test Done in GeForce forums started by @wesk05

1- Missing white line (centered screen)
2- the RGB to YCbCr conversions need to improve the colors are fading
3- Red, white and blue are clipping
4- bands are BAD
5- chroma range check are BAD

i've only tested 5 android boxes but they all output an RGB signal which is for computer, phones etc.

YCbCr is needed for tv's but none of these devices including the Shield do it.

the same video file looks much better on an old device like a ps3 because ps3 has option for YCbCr

So what about changing the build.prop to match the Sony Devices?

You mean Sony TV's w/Android right? ... approved by Netflix and Amazon.

Yes.

I installed the Amazon Instant Video app from above for the Nvidia shield, but I can't browser anything with the remote. Any clue?

then Click HERE

This definitely puts the Core on steroids Wink, with no ill effects as far as I can see.

But, I wanted to let users know that mSD card works better than USB for this patch, and don't unzip the file... just copy it over to a mSD w/it and nothing else. Also, when you see this screen upon reboot...

The SHIELD does YCbCr 4:2:0 for 4K 50/60Hz, but not for 1080p or 4K 23.976Hz. Amlogic devices output YCbCr 4:4:4.
