Thats correct, you install that, and upgrade via ppa, HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux#Upgrading (wiki)do the 3 top commands which includes the one on note box.

Congratulations your thread is the 1000 thread on this very subject. There should be a prize for you.

On one hand I want to agree with you...

On the other hand its pretty much commons sense, once you realize the distinction between OS and application and you know that v14 is based on 14.04LTS release its should be automatic realization of the obvious.

None of the below comments are directed at you its broad observation.

None the less, I somewhat agree and perhaps a really good solution in future, would be, whoever is packing up the ISO should not name it in such a manner that indicates some pre-conceived notion that its specific to one version only of the application. Or make a sticky, but then who guarantees people would read it, since they dont even search?

But then again, that wouldn't work either, because the more you make things idiot proof you soon realise nature fabricates better idiots...

Moral of the story is, the more you handhold some people the more co-dependant they become.
