Release HDHomeRun PVR native addon
#1
I've started a native PVR HDHomeRun addon development. All the channels, images and guide are auto downloaded from the tuner and hdhomerun.com. The guide is available for the next 2 hours. I love the HDHomeRun VIEW addon (this code is kinda based on that one), but I've really missed the native PVR integration.

UPDATE:

Repository and addon moved to Kodi. It is now part of the Kodi PVR releases:

https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.hdhomerun

Obsolete repository:

https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhomerun

You can download a very first test version of Kodi 15.2 (Isengard) win32 and linux x86 binaries at:

https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhome...ag/Initial

Windows:
https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhome...-win32.zip

Linux x86:
https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhome...ux-x86.zip

Linux x64:
https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhome...86-x64.zip

Do not forget it is an initial test release, so be patient with it, but feel free to test it and post some feedbacks! Smile

v1.0.4
- Minor fix in addon.xml

v1.0.3
- Added icon
- Added setting: Mark new show
- Added setting: Hide protected channels
- Added setting: Hide duplicate channels
- Added setting: Debug
- Added EPG_TAG categories

Zoltan

IMPORTANT:
The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.

Awesome, looking forward to this. Possible to eventually add Schedules Direct support for those of us who use ClearQAM? (Silicon Dust doesn't support EPG for ClearQAM). Thanks!

Unfortunately the addon relies on the guide given by the HDHomeRun tuner.

Hope you pardon such a novice question, but how to you install this in Kodi?

thanks.

It is not part of Kodi and not in any of the repos, but initial binary releases are available at https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhomerun/releases.
If you are using windows or linux x86, just download the zip file for your platform, and go to "System/Add-ons/Install from zip file" and select the zip file downloaded from the above link.

Cool! Do you think that there is any chance that this will be submitted and accepted to Kodi's PVR repo and mainline inclusion?

https://github.com/kodi-pvr

By the way, didn't SiliconDust in their Kickstarter campaign promise to develop their own official HDHomeRun PVR client addon for Kodi?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/127...escription

They at least had a stretch goal for adding Kodi support that was met.

Guess that I just assumed that when it said "Kodi support" they meant using Kodi's PVR API and a binary PVR client addon for native integration.

I think that some developers on the Kodi team had good contact with SiliconDust management so maybe they can check on this?

It can be integrated into https://github.com/kodi-pvr and kodi without any effort, since it is using the cmake mechanism, and I am compiling through kodi source tree already.

I thought the SD project is for a full fetched PVR with recording options. This addon, as of right now, implements live TV only without any recording features.

Well if it is for Linux will it work on Raspberry Pi 2 since its a stripped down version of Linux Smile

This will be a game changer I have a 3 tuner HdHomeRun on Comcast and having 4 Raspberry Pi 2 around the household I will no longer need HTPC running in the background. To use MCE channel guide
One HTPC Windows 7 pro 64x running WMC with 2 HDhomeRun on Comcast 6 tuners with MCEbuddy
WD MyCloud 24TB over Netgear network | 6500 movies and 40,000+ TV Show episodes

It should support multi tuners, but never tried it, since I have only one. The channels should be appended after each other downloaded from the found tuners (in the order the tuners were found).
I am planning to add some xml support to be able to rearrange/rename the channels.

The inserted images should be linked to the images available in https://github.com/zcsizmadia/pvr.hdhomerun/releases. I can see them correctly. What links do you have see for the images?
They should be:
