OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0)
something is not right with 0206 and 3D playback.

some ISO files play fine like always..

some ISO files give black screen with both playback in 3D

some ISO files give 2D only playback option

i have the audio issues also, not sure when they began i went from 0128 to 0206

True HD is giving the high pitched audio distortions, DTS and DD 5.1 seem to be fine here tho.

i pm you my log millhouse.

Tested True-HD from Minions ISO and audio seems fine. A sample file that shows audio problems would be useful.
(2016-02-03, 04:09)Milhouse Wrote: @popcornmix: I've noticed a regression when playing "Sintel-Bluray.iso" (http://download.blender.org/durian/movies - first item, 1.4GB)

This plays normally using MMAL (mmal-mvc in Codec OSD) up until #0120, but from #0121 onwards it plays at 1 fps with no audio (it gives the impression that it takes about 45 seconds for any video to appear, but I think this is because there's a few seconds of black frames at the start and when played at 1 fps this takes about 45 seconds to play out).

Is this still an issue? Just had a look and it seems okay.
Yes, still a problem.

However I've been testing this over smb:// (Windows 7 PC), and I've just tried it over nfs:// where it played normally - so this might be an smb:// issue... hmmm.

my issue is probably not a good one to use..

i cannot playback true HD 7.1 on my amp, only DD and DTS 5.1

normally that format ends up as 2ch at my AMP but with ok 2ch playback with the 0206 build i got the distortion on top of 2ch playback with movie PAN ,havent tested others, i can tho if you need me to

issues for me are the 3D stuff.. do you see 3D issues with last nights 3D changes?

here is my log of 3d playback.

http://sprunge.us/VTXU

hsbs stuff played fine, output 3d automatically(nothing required from me) going to 2d combines the hsbs into 1 good image !!

imax sholin monk 3d iso gives black screen (worked fine previously)

PAN (3d output is all good, starts in 2D mode, have to hit 3D button on tv) True HD audio issues as noted above ( switiching to DD 5.1 track and it plays fine)

shark movie (no 3D output at all, tv gives 2d to 3d conversion options)

OK just went and checked again.. basically most 3D iso files play just a black screen, KODI GUI is present, AVR switches to correct audio mode but i get silence. GUI counter shows it playings normally. stopping the playback occasionally shows a TAB GUI before switching back to the normal output on the menu. once or twice my TV kept switching from 3d to 2d and back all while on the blank playback this is with omx player.

UPDATE

MMAL seems to be fine for all playback, audio issues were fixed by switching channels back to 2.0 and enabling dd transcoding. TrueHD works good as 5.1 DD for me now again at least with mmal.
omx player still gives no 3d iso playback.

Delete TV29.db and see if that helps, looks like it's become corrupted somehow.

(2016-02-07, 05:17)Milhouse Wrote: @isobox: can you upload a debug log (wiki) of #0205 while playing the distorted streams? And presumably you are using passthrough?

Milhouse, I thought passthrough was on but found it was disabled. After re-enabling, the DTS audio came through fine in the Despicable Me 2 3D ISO one time. Now I'm getting just a blank screen and no sound when trying to play it (logs uploaded to http://xbmclogs.com/pzcy6bnlp). I toggled passthrough to try to reproduce the successful test but can only get the blank screen/no audio result.

This is with #205 still in place, and the Christmas Carol 3D ISO I was comparing with is still working normally.

Thanks for your time, Milhouse.

Stopping Kodi, deleting TV29db (in Userdata->Database) the re-starting kodi resolved issue with EPG working again. Thank you Cool

3D isos are played back in 2D only in the last 2 builds.
Hello, I'd like to request some small changes and additions to the Backup system in order to enhance the user experience and make the whole process less tedious.
"Backup-script" addon does not restore everything, so I would prefer to use native functions.

1) Add a "Target path" option in order to allow Kodi to backup onto anything else beside local storage (in my case it's a cramped SD-card, so it's only logical to be able to store it via local network at shared disk)
2) Add a "Backup" pictogram (icon) to program menu (instead of searching for it thru the whole system menu), that would invoke a prompt "Create new backup or restore one of the previous?".
3) If user chooses "Restore", instead of opening the filesystem, an interface could show a simple list of available backups from "target path" (in "date time filesize" manner) along with "More..." button which would invoke the filesystem dialog.

P.S.
4) Sometimes there's a need to restart Kodi without the rest of OS. Please add another item to the Shutdown menu: "Restart shell (Kodi)" or "Fast reboot"

For me with omxplayer I get 2D only
Videoplayer is OK for most iso, 3D auto switches first movie only, need to turn my TV off and on now to get auto 3d mode working for second playback attempt.

Videoplayer for On stranger tides 3d iso gives me no 3d and 100% cpu also.

Do you need a log?? Is any of this information helpful?

The backup script add on has options to backup more stuff than just the default selections and does everything you mentioned in your post. I backup to an smb share. If I use restore I have options to pick by date all the backup I made.
