How long should this take about for ~2500 movies with an up to date pc?

thanks and best regards

No idea, maybe 5-10 minutes if you delete all movies, 5-20 seconds if you remove the source. My PC (a new i7) needs 5 seconds to remove a tv show source with over 13'000 episodes.

Thanks Dan.
Deleted all movies and episodes now.
I had about 200 movies difference difference between ember and kodi.
Ember said i have 2500 movies in my database and kodi tells me there are only 2300 movies in my database.

Thanks for the help.
Kodi groups movies by moviesets. Not by default, but most users have enabled this. Movies in sets are not counted in the library view, Kodi counts a set only as one "movie". That can be a reason for differences ;-)
Hi Dan,

A question for clarification. For fanarts/posters/thumbnails is possible to set the preferred resolutions to be downloaded or leave it "open".

Actually I'm trying to download some thumbnails from TMDB (highest priority) and TVDB (lowest priority). The point is that even if TMBD has thumbnails available at higer resolution (something in between 3840x2160 and 1920x1080 with 16/9 ratio) than TVDB, the latter are the ones that are downloaded (i.e. 400x225). Is this because the thumbnails on TMDB don't exactly match the resolutions of 3840x2160, 1920x1080, 1280x720 or 400x225?

Thanks for your support.

Ok i have completly deleted my database in ember and in kodi.
Ember still find ~200 movies more than ember.
Same sources in kodi and ember.
Any suggestions from you how that could be possible?

Thanks for the reply Dan.

As a practical example take a look to the following two images (the first one is a screenshot from TMDB and the second one what Ember Media Manager is proposing):

In the options of EMM I have no language forced and set 3840x2160 as preferred resolution. I can not understand why the 400x225 is selected instead of the 3000x1688.

1688p is not a regular resolution and will be marked as "Any". All "Any" entries will be moved to the end of the list.

EDIT: Maybe I should change the system a little bit. I've added an "Enhancement" for this: link

Hi Dan,

I want to name my Movies & TV Shows as follows:

Movies: Moviename (year) / moviename .bluray.ext
TV Shows: TV Show Name / Season 1 / S01E01 episodename .bluray.ext

Can I use the renamer to this & if so, is there settings that I need to change in order to get the above results?
Sorry, but I've never used the renamer module before, I do everything manuallyHuh

Thanks

Movie folder pattern:
Code:
$T{ ($Y)}
Movie file pattern:
Code:
$T{.$S}

Show folder pattern:
Code:
$Z
Season folder pattern:
Code:
Season $K1_?
Episode files pattern:
Code:
$W2_S?2E?{ $T}{.$S}

I whould use this as season pattern to fix the issue that windows sorts "Season 11" between "Season 1" and "Season 2" (this pattern adds a leading 0):
Code:
Season $K2_?
Thanks, but I have no idea how to use the renamer or the code you have given me.
Can you please explain the procedure to change 10 episodes so it looks like what I've requested above.
Thanks

- Add this settings in: Settings => Modules => Renamer
- confirm the settings dialog, switch to the tab/list TV Shows
- use Tools => Bulk Renamer to show how the files will be renamed

If it looks correct you can enable the checkboxes in Renamer settings to run the renamer automatically while db update, scraping ect.
Thank you very much. Do you first rename & then scrape a TV show or the other way round?

Only episodes/movies with NFO can be renamed, so you have to scrape them first.
If you enable "rename while DB update", new episodes will be scraped and automatically renamed while DB update. This works only if the tv show is known/scraped before adding new episodes.
Hi Dan,

See my settings:
Image

I had the following movie folder: Predestination 2014 (1080p Bluray x265 HEVC 10bit AAC 5.1)
Now I did a scrape first like you said, then it returned the following:
Predestination (2014) / predestination.mkv
Everything is fine except the bluray part is missing.
What did I do wrong?

The VideoSource is missing for this movie. VideoSource will be recognized while importing a movie/episode to Ember. In most case it will be filtered from file name or folder name. There is an additional setting that has to been enabled to get the VideoSource from folder name: Settings => Options => General => Include Folder Name In Source Type Check.
Also you have to check if any source mapping is there: Settings => Misc => Media Sources Editor => Source (reload the defaults if the list is empty)

VIDEO_TS will be automatically recognized as "dvd", BDMV folder structure as "bluray".

You can change or set the VideoSource in Edit dialog at any time.

In your screenshot it looks like you have a space between { an .
The pattern should be $T{.$S}
