Win Intel HTPCs/NUCs & Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback

A metered connection as in limiting the amount of data throughput to the PC?

That will negatively affect a number of uses for either of the HTPC's I am trying to stop Windows from automatically updating the Intel graphics driver for.

I have made every registry entry and used every ShutUp10 setting I've found associated with preventing Windows from repeatedly automatically updating the Intel video driver. Nothing has worked.
So I'm running Windows 10 1809 (Education version). This is my DxDiag log file: https://pastebin.com/J3nyRNYe
This is my Intel Display driver log file: https://pastebin.com/ZSVtmWC8

This is screenshot of O&O shutup 10 settings: https://imgur.com/a/iLoCGCY

I hope this can help you out. I have this setup running for more than 6 months now and I solely use my Intel Box for 3D playback, nothing else.

The issue is the 1903 update. That is what has FUBAR'd everything. Wish Windows could leave things well enough alone to not mess people's systems up. Need to full fresh installs and prevent updates to 1903. Back to playing the "don't let Windows do Windows things" game again.

Just set the network connection to a „Metered connection“.
This will stop downloading feature upgrades.

Also download the „wushowhide.diagcab“ file from Microsoft to hide specific updates for the future.

Break MVC MKV playback and requires reinstalling the working MVC MKV Intel driver and restarting then correcting Kodi audio settings. So very annoying.

I've added multiple registry entries that are supposed to prevent this and none of them have worked. I ran ShutUp10 which is supposed to prevent this and it does not work. Just getting annoyed by Windows again. Going to have to format and re-install WIndows and stop updates to 1903 and the nplay the stop all updates/roll back game again. Boo!

No, all you're doing is going to SETTINGS->STATUS->CHANGE CONNECTION PROPERTIES and changing your connections SET AS METERED CONNECTION option to ON.  Done.

UPDATE:  I figured out how to get the addon installed!  I installed Kodi on another computer, saved the pvr.hts folder as a zip file, and then used the install from zip option in the addons section.  Viola!

ORIGINAL ISSUE:
Quote:Is anyone using TVheadend with the 17.6 3D MVC release?  I can't get that PVR to show up in the addons.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled countless times and it simply doesn't appear.  As a test, I removed a couple other PVRs during install and they disappeared.  Then, I reinstalled and added those back and they reappeared.  I tried the same with TVheadend, but no change.  I also redownloaded the installer from page 1, just to be sure my previous one wasn't corrupted.

Any ideas?

Do you plan to release kodi 18.5 or 18.6 3dmvc?

Anyone able to give me some hardware pointers? With Black Friday sales on I’m looking to upgrade my 5 year old Celeron to an Intel NUC like a Gen 8 and would like to get one that would support pass through for at least Atmos, 10bit and 4K. Not sure if any NUCs can do this or whether I would need to wait for Gen 9 NUCs?

Just managed to get useful BD-J support working because of this thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2895703

But alas, 18.2 is too old, need to compile i think 18.4 (didn't try 18.3).

Take a look at pages 211 to 214 in this thread for chat between Morpog and Afedchin on how to compile.

Hello everyone, I would like some recommendation for HTPC or Barebone to play 3D MVC natively from Kodi and Google Drive add-on for less than 500 euros. Thanks

I'm also wondering.  Based on what's on the first page, it would seem that a 6th gen NUC is the newest we could use from that line because HDMI 2.0 isn't functional yet.  Outside of NUCs, I'm at a loss as to what's really recommended because of how old that spreadsheet is.

I'm currently running a NUC D54250WYK with the latest drivers provided through Driver Booster because I couldn't get the recommended drivers from the spreadsheet to install.  I kept receiving a message that they aren't compatible with my NUC.  If anyone has them working under W10, I'd be interested in hearing how you got them installed.

I know we're around the holidays, but I'm also wondering if work is still going on with this project.

The mvc.v18 branch is still 18.2. If @afedchin will ever update the repo i will build it.

You can rebase that yourself easily on Kodi's Leia branch - not much has changed. I just did it just for fun. One minor hunk in AdvancedSettings.cpp and one in DXVAHD.cpp
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

did anyone test out the rather new NUC8i5INH/ NUC8i7INH ?
Check out Page 20 of the technical product specifications:

i bought the i7 version with win 10 yesterday, bluray 3D works perfect with powerdvd 19 ultra.

Those models have AMD graphics on-board rather than using Intel gfx?

that's correct, the amd 540x has native DP 1.4 HDR / HDMI 2.0b / HDCP 2.2 support, so these models are probably more future proof.

if i did understand this correct, the other NUC either have:
- one native HDMI 1.4b with MVC/S3D and one HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 but no MVC/S3D support.
- one Thunderbolt 3 USB-C (DP1.2 with MVC/S3D) and one HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 but no MVC/S3D support. (USB-C to HDMI adapter cable required)
So if you want to use 4K/ HDCP 2.2 and MVC/S3D, you have to change the video output depending on the content, unless you get a separate solution for 4k streaming.
