Yes, test each suggestion one at a time - so revert back before trying next test.

According to here is was build 907. I observed it the next day, but not sure if I did an update that day

We need to go back 0906 to confirm it was that build, I'm away till the weekend, but will test when back if no one else can do it.

I've checked again: Hias's update for Wolfson's wm5102 chipset, not for Digi+ with wm8804G and Milhouse's config is correctly (in overlay/hifiberry-digi.dtbo)

Are you using toslink connection? Is passthrough enabled?
What are you connected to? Have you ever had the hifiberry sounding good?
Sorry about late. I'm playing RPi2 in my car and connected following: HU(Head Unit) <-- HDMI <-- RPi2 & HiFi Digi+ --> S/PDIF --> Audison Bit Ten D --> Pioneer Amplifier --> Focal Speaker
- Pass through: disabled.
- Sound output through optical in Digi+ have the mid, treble, sound field and sound stage a bit better through HDMI, but more bass hums (with same preset in Bit Ten D)
- I heard that HiFi Dac sound better but don't try any more

Tested clean Libreelec install and started updates from build 906 till 915.
On all updates there are no problems with divx with srt subs. Subs are only displayed when spoken and disappear when not spoken.
Even tested with Estausy mod skin (as suggested as source of the problem in one of the posts) with all dependencies installed and everything works as should.
Not tested any piracy addons.

Hope this helps.

Yes, test each suggestion one at a time - so revert back before trying next test.

Last night it looks like audio keep alive seems to be the winner with a few hours of testing but I won't call it yet. I will keep testing and reporting.

+1 but this seems a general kodi problem not Milhouse build. With my android nightly I have the same problem but only the newer builds. The build from 20160905 is ok.

I just tried build #0904 and it's working fine. So problem must have started #905 or #906 ... (using .srt subtitles, .mp4 movies, OMX player)
Issue : SRT subtitles staying on screen even after dialogue has finished....

Hi Milhouse,

I've checked back and the SRT subtitles breaks with build #0906.(mp4 movie and OMX)

Working fine on #0905..

Hope this helps narrow down the problem.

Kind Regards Bucky

I see further up someone else has done some tests without a problem.
So heres some info on my setup, using rbp3, with a WiFi dongle, remote control and 2 hard drives attached, the addons I'm using are YouTube, iPlayer, extended info script and backup.
I will start uninstalling the addons and see if it makes a difference, but I doubt it. ?

Update:

No difference with addons, and not required dependencies removed..
The SRT problem seems to be OMX specific, not seeing any issue with MMAL.

I can also confirm the problem starts with #0906.

Here's a 16MB sample (.avi and .srt) that demonstrates the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nmr2n0akau4678...t.zip?dl=0

From the outset (with OMX enabled, MMAL disabled or enabled) subtitles remain on screen longer than they should, sometimes subtitles running into one another. Some subtitles don't appear at all (or appear very briefly/too late), for example the third subtitle, "the police who investigate crime..." isn't shown.

With MMAL enabled (and OMX disabled), subtitles appear normally.

That could be right. Tested it oke with MMAL indeed.

Edit:
OMX enabled now and run into problem.
Yep, sub's working fine with MMAL.
Only problems I have with MMAL, is it slows everything down for me.
Going thru the menus isn't smooth anymore, and it makes the video freeze every time I press a remote key and move menu.
Strange as I would have thought the pi3 was powerful enough for this.
All my movies are 720p with fairly low bitrates, so nothing too strenuous.
