v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
(2016-08-19, 23:19)porkchop999 Wrote: I think this is being fixed
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/10310

PR10310 is in tonight's build (#0819) which I've just tested, however the reported speed doesn't change with tempo (I'm assuming it should).

I have the following keyboard.xml:
Code:
<keymap>
  <global>
    <keyboard>
      <f mod="ctrl">xbmc.playercontrol(tempoup)</f>
      <r mod="ctrl">xbmc.playercontrol(tempodown)</r>
      <o mod="ctrl">PlayerDebug</o>
    </keyboard>
  </global>
</keymap>
and I have "Sync playback to display" enabled (otherwise tempo doesn't work at all - presumably not supported), and pressing ctrl-f/ctrl-r has an obvious effect on playback however the speed shown in PlayerDebug is always "speed: 100.100%" and never changes.

Hello all,
Hello Milhouse & FernetMenta

I have two issues with Libreelec since Jarvis version. I have tested all alpha, all build and OE 6.95.x.

Here is my copnfig :
Motherboard Asus P8h67-i
Intel i3 2120 Sandy bridge with HD graphics 2000
4Go Ram

First Issue :
Currently I'm using LE 7.0.2 and I have stutter when I play a video.
BUT, I don't have this problem with kodibuntu 16.1 or OE 6.0.3. So, I think is an issue with LE or OE Jarvis
I have tested a lot of option like Adjust refresh rate, .... But, I have always the stutter on all video.
This is my paste log with debug activate.

Second Issue :
When I want to open Audio DSP my computer crash. It's impossible to use this add-on for me. I contact Wisler (AudioDSP developper) and he said thaht the version of audioDSP is too old.
It is possible to add more recent version on audio DSP in the next build ?

I post a debug log for the 2 problem
http://pastebin.com/fmEXnVWV

Thanks you for your help

I've no current plans to include ADSP in these builds.

Still seeing an issue with the recent builds and I think it started around #813/#814. When playing back PVR recordings I try to skip ahead and KODI basically crashes. All other media is find like TV/Movies shows but PVR TV isn't normal. I am using pvr.mythtv as well FYI:

http://sprunge.us/fPiU
HTPC(s): All running LibreELEC
  • AMD 2200G APU on Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming WIFI-CF
  • RPI3 x2 | RPI2 x2
NAS: FreeNAS (Latest Stable) | NFS/CIFS

Is Kodi actually crashing? If so you'll have a crashlog (see note #4 in first post).

Knowing the exact build when this problem started could also help.

It doesn't crash but I see a spinning circle for a long time. I can try again later tonight and see if it will crash.

Also it started with #813 I believe but I'll try #812 to confirm.

I have a question about Milhouse Build vs LibreElec 7

I have a NUC braswell NUC5CPYH in a fanless case

LibreElec 7 at idle is barely above ambient room temp and barely warm after I watch a 2 hour movie

Milhouse Build is very warm at idle, approaching hot.

Are there still kernel problems with braswell with new kernels?
No - there are no kernel issues anymore.

Most likely an addon running with a huge cpu load. Verify with top.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thanks Milhouse for your help. I will wait Smile

What about the first issue about video stutter on HD Graphics 2000. Can you please help me with this problem. It's so difficult to Watch video with this stutter.

Thanks .

Have you noticed how badly behaved the Intel pstate powersave governor is with kernel 4.6 and 4.7 on Braswell? It doesn't clock my N3150 up to maximum turbo with software decoding and causes skipping in Kodi and MPV. Kernel 4.4 is OK.

My workaround is to modify the airmont_params in intel_pstate.c like this:
setpoint =35 (was 60)
deadband = 15 (was 0)

I think that gives an up threshold of 50 and a down threshold of 20.

With those settings it does clock up to max turbo with software decoding, and down to minimum with hardware decoding, using Kodi 17 alpha2.

It's a pity you can't set these via sysfs.

Beware: turbostat from kernel 4.7 reports my Braswell at 3.3GHz! If only that were possible... You need an earlier version to get plausible numbers.
I hope you filed a bugreport at bugs.freedesktop.org - otherwise it won't be solved. Why are you using alpha2, btw.?

Edit: Cannot reproduce, btw.

Kodi playing h265-10 bit on my Braswell N3150 system:
Quote:fritsch@minix:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep -i mhz
cpu MHz : 2079.980
cpu MHz : 2079.980
cpu MHz : 2079.980
cpu MHz : 2079.980

Edit: Fixed the screenshot with: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/10316

Sorry, I don't understand how you can play video with that specification on Braswell. I would have thought it's limit for software decoding would be about 1080i50 + yadif 2x

I don't get what you want to say, sorry.

A Braswell plays 3840x2160 @60p h264 without issues, while outputting it to a HDMI 1.4b target. It also can play 3840x2160@60p HEVC 8 bit without issues. The test above was meant to show, that all cores go up to their maximum when using SW decoding - nothing else. It's obviously clear that a braswell cannot play hevc-10 bit 4k file without skipping and stuttering, but this was not tested here.

Btw. using yadif 2x won't work well on a BSW too cause of the immense cpu copying overhead. VAAPI provides VAAPI-MCDI which has similar quality while not using any additional CPU.

Edit: The yadif in the above screenshot is a bug - it's not used at all, cause that video is not interlaced.
