v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
(2016-09-27, 19:34)n2vwz Wrote: I tried to update version 0806 to version 0926 on a Chromebox. The update failed, reporting that a partition was too small.

What is the best approach to update to 0926. I probably need to do a clean install, but I haven't seen any full installs for the Milhouse builds.

Recommendations?

See note #5, first post. If you want to do a clean install use an alpha img.gz, then upgrade.

@Milhouse and all people

I have a big trouble with My HTPC is a ZBOX-CI521NANO : Processor Intel Core M-5Y10c (dual core, 800 MHz, up to 2.0 GHz) , Graphic engine Intel HD Graphics 5300
I have a big problem after installing your software ... after many minutes the video image goes crazy ...

Image

I have this problem either with LibreELEC (Krypton) v7.90.006 ALPHA and either LibreELEC (Jarvis) v7.0.2
I have the same problem also with openELEC with jarvis .... the only one version without this problem is the "OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-Milhouse-20150905092608-#0904-g51eea0c.tar".
WHY only this version is ok for my video ?? pls Milhouse solve my trouble .

Can antone help me with this problem ?
I really like to use Krypton to my zbox.

So OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-Milhouse-20150909040857-#0908-g51eea0c has the problem, but OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-Milhouse-20150905092608-#0904-g51eea0c doesn't?

It seems unlikely to be a Kodi issue, and there were no driver or kernel changes between #0904 and #0908, are you sure the problem isn't there in #0904?

Though to be honest I'd suspect a hardware issue, try a different HDMI cable.

Are you sure it is not the HDMI cable?
When it happens again try fiddling both ends of the HDMI cable.
I have seen this "snowing" effect with bad HDMI connections.
thanks for reply
I never tryed #0908 but today I'll try.
#0904 surely doesn't have the problem ..... but the vesrsion after had it.
I'll try also a new hdmi cable to check if \the problem is there.

thank you for your #0904 version .. this is the only one Smile

I'll come back soon with tests done.

That is the whole point of these test builds, regression testing. Bleeding edge changes are included in these nightly builds and we the users are expected to see what works and what breaks. Then we provide feedback and most importantly logfiles so the bugs can be fixed.

I'm having issues using the Avia Home Theater Calibration disc, it has been working well in at least Kodi 15. I noticed that MPEG2 hardware acceleration is now allowed for ISO sources but disabling it didn't help.

A debug log might reveal something.

Before I finally stopped playback, the navigation in the DVD disc menu itself did not react in any commands using the PS3 remote or a keyboard. Choosing the Home menu button in the Kodi "navigator menu" (the one with the fast forward etc. buttons) didn't help either.

Please let me know if you want me to open a ticket at the bug tracker and I'll do that.

Yes please, that always adds a bit more weight.

Build #1018 included a new kernel (4.3-rc5, up from 4.1.10 in #1017), but most other changes were for hardware you don't have.

It's possible there's a conflict or bug in these more recent kernels but you're the first person to report it and we have thousands of people using kernel 4.4.x and later in LibreELEC builds (not just mine but release builds too) without any reported issues like this (to my knowledge, anyway).

Can you check if there are any BIOS updates for your hardware, and if so apply them? And check for any relevant BIOS settings, maybe something like "HDMI drive strength", or similar?

Did you manage to try a different cable? How long is your current HDMI cable? Are you connecting directly to the TV, through an AVR or any other kind of HDMI switch? Also try a different HDMI input on your TV, AVR etc.

Are you able to test any other OS on this hardware, eg. Windows?
