v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
Hi. I'm using netflix addon and for a minute or two it seems ok.but after that I'm experiencing buffering alot.
Is there any special configuration to the inputstream or anything else?
Thanks

Not yet, the last few days I have been busy finding out why the tests I had planned you to run did crash the RPi2: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2166

Fortunately the underlying issue has just been resolved and I've PRed the changes that'll allow you to run the next tests. PR1917 should be included in the next milhouse build, if it is please do the following steps:

Add the following to the end of /flash/cmdline.txt:
Code:
trace_event=module:* ftrace=function ftrace_filter=__request_module

Your cmdline.txt should then look like this (everything must be in a single line):
Code:
boot=/dev/mmcblk0p1 disk=/dev/mmcblk0p2 quiet trace_event=module:* ftrace=function ftrace_filter=__request_module

Now power off the RPi, connect the HDD, power it up, then ssh in and post the outputs of these 2 commands:
Code:
dmesg | paste
cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace | paste

This should hopefully give us some more clues what's happening on your system.

so long,

Hias

Milhouse build 0823 contains the PR needed to run these tests. Can you give it a try?

It would also be good to know if you added some custom configuration (modprobe, systemd, udev etc). Please also post the output of the following command:
Code:
ls -lR /storage/.config /storage/.cache | paste

so long,

Hias

# dmesg | paste

# cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace | paste

@dascoco I found out why exfat didn't work, a fix for that should be in tonight's build. No need for any more logs, but please report back when the issue is fixed.

so long,

Hias
my ISP replaced a modem/router today which has caused all kinds of issues with my network, the least of which includes IP address changed everywhere.
My 2 RPI3s were up and running on new IPs, but my MySQL server IP changed, so I had to edit the advancedsettings.xml file through SSH. Upon reboot, neither RPi3 would boot into kodi, or if they did, all I get is a black screen. I don't see a crashlog from today, just an old one
http://sprunge.us/GZGK

Here is a debug log from build 0824 (both started on 0815, updated one as a test)
http://sprunge.us/gESK

Both have the same problem, on a reboot, I see the libreelec logo, a quick flash of the kodi logo, then a black screen, nothing more. Both are using a wireless connection too.
Wouldn't it have been easier to reconfigure your new router to use the same IP settings as your old router? Smile

If Kodi is starting but hanging on a blank screen (and there is no crash log) then it's probably not crashing. You should be able to tell that by running "pgrep kodi.bin" over the course of a couple of minutes - if the number returned (the process id) is always the same then Kodi isn't crashing in a loop, it's just stuck.

Why is it stuck? Probably "wait for network" or some wake-on-lan configuration would be my guess. Maybe the MySQL server on "192.168.0.7" is not accessible?

you would think so, but no. They provide a modem/router combo, the last one I was able to turn off DHCP and run it bridged so I could use my own wireless router as the DHCP server with all my settings/forwards for cameras etc. The new modem/router they provided is not allowing a bridged mode.

I reconfigured MySQL, that didn't help, I just updated MySQL and reconfigured, and that seems to have done the trick. Very odd indeed.

-----

Well that didn't work either, I could see the MySQL library, but not play anything.
Turns out it appears the change in DHCP servers disabled network discovery on the WIN10 file server. Once that was re-enabled, I was able to play content.

Although no one here responded just wanted to note that what solved my buffering issues was changing the advancedsettings format (changed on kodi 17).

Sorry, no. You could always parse the forum post - that's quite easily done in a shell script.

Or retrieve http://milhouse.libreelec.tv/builds/mast...eases.json and determine the latest file from its contents.
