v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
I'm getting an occasional crash when trying to play a DVD folder.

Crashlog
@smp1 can you determine the first build with this issue?
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

I will try but it will take some time. I can't easily reproduce this. The issue seem to be present only when I try to play a DVD folder during the playback of another file or when watching a live TV.

There is also another issue that may be related to those crashes - when I try to play a DVD folder during the playback of another file - the playback does not start and it just quits to Kodi GUI. This one is 100% reproducible.

It could be something to do with:

PR:12797: VideoPlayer: make OpenFile asynchron

which first appeared in #0913, so it might be worth testing #0912 and then #0913 to see if the behaviour is noticeably different between the two.

(2017-11-21, 02:33)smp1 Wrote: I'm getting intermittent Kodi crashes when switching from AVC encoded video to HEVC 10-bit video (the crash happens immediately when I start playing HEVC-10 video). Those crashes are easily reproducible and I believe the last good build is #0912 (I can reproduce the issue with #0913 and newer and can't reproduce with #0912 and older.).

I can reproduce. Looks like the async open means that second file starts while first is still playing.
The issue is advanced deinterlace uses the QPUs. So does HEVC decode and we are getting a deadlock.

I suspect that disabling deinterlace (or switching from advanced to bob) will work around the issue for now.
I'll try to find a proper solution.
Looks like this is fixed in build #1203.
However, it still crashes if I skip forward to the next video (e.g. from interlaced AVC to progressive HEVC-encoded video). This is not related to async open, this issue was present before build #0913. No crashes if I turn off advanced deinterlacing.

It would help if you could determine when it started behaving like this.

He means what build #, if you update every day the it should be easy to determine when it happened. However, if you update once a month go back through builds and try until you find the build it broke.

Looks like there is a serious GUI performance bug that seem to be triggered by enabling/disabling Teletext.
I noticed that Kodi's sliding menus are sometimes not smooth, especially when watching a live TV and this can only be fixed by restarting Kodi/reboot.
I tried to find a way to reliably reproduce this issue and found out that the "jerkiness" appear when I enable and then disable teletext.
