v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
@fritsch from what I can read not ready for primetime yet...

@Milhouse #0519 build does something with the smb on my nuc, stuck in infinet "Preparing... 0%" on Kodi startup. No matter how many times I boot it will not go any further. I will wait and see if any other have problems before I post logs.

I'll need a debug log - not sure what "Preparing 0%" refers to. Maybe a screenshot too? Could be an addon issue (try a "clean" .kodi?)
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Sorry, I forgot to add that it's when I have enabled scan library on startup it's just stuck on "Preparing... 0%" and my Kodi box is connected to a QNAP with SMB.

EDIT: WTF! Now it works. Oh well, disregard my last statement. Time for bed...

@_Spook_ There is some sort of race condition/deadlock that can occur when accessing SMB connections at startup while using these more recent versions of Samba/libsmbclient, so please post if this happens again.

Same as #0518 but without the following packages:
Code:
xf86-video-nvidia-legacy (340.102)
media_build

Using the 4.12-rc1 build, the audio glitching on the NUC 7i5 series is still present is still present. Possible good news, it is less frequent and only occurs occasionally now (~ 5-10 min).

Also, this build is leveraging SW decoding (FF-HEVC for example).

Anything else I can provide?

Yes, VAAPI (hardware decoding) is currently broken in Kodi master.

Hi @Milhouse

I'm new to your 18.0 alpha build. If I want to install a emulator, I get a error about 'kodi.game' is in the wrong version. How to fix this?
@nexusle currently game emulators are broken due to all of the addon changes. You could try an older build that pre-dates the addon changes, such as #0428/#0429, as that might still be working with the game emulators. Once the addon changes are complete then all the game emulators (and other add-ons) can be rebuilt - there's no point trying to do that while Kodi is a moving target.

Thanks for re-enabling VAAPI!
On my system (Intel Nuc 2820) VAAPI doesnt work properly.
By enabling VAAPI my live-tv picture is jerky, i get artifacts and the system keeps buffering all the time.
After disabling VAAPI, no problems and a smooth picture.

When I reboot my Kodi box and start a video, any video, after reboot it freezes the video image after 5-6 seconds and there is no audio. If I stop the file and start it again everything is OK. So I have to do this every time I boot Kodi (every day).

cat $HOME/.kodi/temp/kodi.log | paste http://sprunge.us/DGKI

Some addons (visualization, screensavers) will be broken by the latest build. I've uploaded a new zip for visualization.shadertoy, I'll update screensaver.shadertoy as/when an update is available.
