v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
thx but my general research offers me that HDR is a no go right now correct? Not with Intel and Kodi.
@Milhouse kodi is crashing if i change my deinterlace settings in osd while watching live tv.
Is this a known issue?
I’ on the latest nightly running on my nuc7i5 bnh.

If neede i can provide logs.

 Correct.
Linux HDR is being worked on still.
We have wide color range support in xorg now so Kodi may need to support that and then they need to work on the metadata for HDR in Linux.

First report, and I can't reproduce myself (with a video, I don't have live tv). There were some settings issues in #0614 that will be fixed in #0615, so try that and post a crashlog if it continues. Also worth confirming the build when it started if it's not #0614.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Build #304 is crashing

Hope this is helpful enough.

Many thanks.

It seems to be crashing during VAAPI processing, so presumably it is:

Can you try this build and produce a new crash-log which will give more detailed information which may prove useful.

It's a bug yes, but you should not use "Deinterlace". This yadif filter will produce a lot of CPU load by itself and additionaly by copying the surfaces back to system memory with SSE4 intrinsics in order to be able to CPU deinterlace them. The suggest method for intel is: VAAPI Motion compensation.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thank you very much.
Ok so i wanted to use deinterlace cause for me it’s the best live tv playback quality. It’s the most fluid playback but i didn’t know that it uses a high cpu load.
If noticed if using VAAPI Motion compensation it’s not always smooth as deinterlace.
But if it’s suggested i’ll use it..

Thanks.

@Milhouse i’ll try build #615b later today and report back.🤗

Thanks!

@Milhouse

Can we LIVE boot the 4.17.X kernel image? I don't want to blow away my working Ubuntu 18.04 setup right now but more than willing to test.

Follow these instructions, but use the #0613x tar file as the source for the new SYSTEM and KERNEL files:
