Usual shit is the response I was hoping for.

Hopefully Kodi gets buried by some NXG none generic dedicated softwares soon that isn't reliant on media focused on piracy.

Keep up the good blogs!

tldr;
Media player ftw

Dude these people do this work for free based on passions or their desire.

You have ZERO right to belittle this project or the people who pour their heart and soles into Kodi.

If you want stable the get off bleeding edge so you can have your needs satisfied but if you want to stay on the edge expect bugs and be humble people are helping when they have time.

TLDR
You’re a dick.
Agreed....perhaps he should spend his time fixing his ugly skins instead of bitching about bleeding-edge builds.

It would appear that even though I have VAAPI enabled for Mpeg4 it will only ever decode using software. I couldn't figure out why some files were considerably worse quality that others. Is this a bug or expected behaviour?

Also, on boot I need to switch inputs to get CEC to work (using Pulse8 adapter). Happy to provide any info that is required.

Lastly, I get coloured line a few pixels high occasionally at the top of the screen, it doesn't last long and only happens in menus.

I use 2 displays and have configured it via xorg.
From version 617 on there are irregular drops and skips.
I switch off the 2nd display (switch off other screens) everything runs without problems.

Has something changed in that direction?

If this problem only starts with #0617 then maybe the updated Intel driver added in #0617 is the reason, assuming you're using an Intel GPU of course, as you haven't provided a debug log (wiki).

A debug log (wiki) might prove useful to anyone that is willing to investigate any of your issues.

If these are recent issues then knowing when they start would be helpful.

Yes, it's an Intel GPU - i3-8100 Coffee Lake

At the time of the log there were 5 drops and 1 skip

Not sure if that is considered stuttering as stated in some other posts. I looked back through the thread some but could not find if this was an issue with LibreELEC or Tvheadend.

I've been getting this recently as well. On mine it's buffering for a second or two every so often. I get the buffering dialogue appear.

I've had this for ages on the main menu at the top. I assumed it was a bug in the Estuary Mod V2 skin I'm using.

Will post a debug log when I can.
I found the issue, it was outputting 1440x576 @ 50.00Hz
I disabled it in whitelist and it works again but the kodi GUI looks horrific :O output is 704x576 according to info

 Here are the debug logs

  • The log from boot. I switch sources after boot and then CEC start to work: http://ix.io/1hpQ
  • Now a log where the bar at the top of the screen shows and playing a video that uses SW Mpeg4 instead of HW: http://ix.io/1hpR

It’ll take me a while to step back through the versions to find the last time CEC worked. Will post back once I’ve done so.

On the ocassionsl bar at the top of the screen and the SW playback of mpeg4 they were always there.

Hi, I have had some trouble since #713 with the Kodi ui freezing shortly after startup, #712 is fine. I also made a build from the latest libreelec master using the Kodi commit b0cae1d (13 July) and that works fine as well. If you need logs let me know and I will send them trough later.
